Not sure if there is an exact equation but (potential/ hype) x youth = unnecessary pressure. Oh and probably a good whacking from Rodda and Tui in training :)

Like many players who schools/ parents keep back to assist with making rep honours. Truly have to look through the leaf's in many cases to see the wood. Many of the school boy "super stars" are fully developed men running around against boys. i.e. Hewat at 18 playing for Nudgee would have...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Sorry to drag this back to the top again, but due to an explosive post I made, i had to have a deserved spell on the bench and never got to have a say. :) (lesson learned) I thoroughly enjoy the U20's WC and have for many years, long may it continue. Congrats to all involved. How it could...

I agree totally. Hewats days of U20s are over.

Don't disagree with you - but send these young men to prems first. make them earn their stripes. i can see the sense in Hocking getting some extra attention adding some extra weight but in Blyth there is simply not a rugby player and only rugby will sort that, not time in the gym.

For me Hocking is a gem if he can add positive body weight.

Great grab on Hockings and Timu - Blyth is a waste of money and time. Another example of picking a boy for his body rather than his ability.

I was very disappointed again for another year with how QLD 1 and 2 played. We almost have to forget last year because of the conditions but once again QLD fail. All the excuses in the world won't change the results. The players are good individually, I'm sure we can all agree on that. Yes the...

Was out at Wests on Saturday for my first visit. Great view from the raised bank. Fantastic facility and a good atmosphere. Draught beer and a decent steak sandwich. All the hype about electric backlines should go to Wests. They have some real flyers on either wing. The 9 is sharp too. 15 is a...

Ok just thought they might be putting their eggs in Geni and Sorovi's basket. Just a question for the guys with more local knowledge than me. How do you see the Hamish Stewart (obviously now being posted as the next 10 learning under QC (Quade Cooper)) and Isaac Lucas who many would appear to believe has a...

Sorry no history here. 12 months in AU, first season of watching prem rugby week in week out. I was only repeating a conversation with a work colleague who is a die hard dragons supporter who shared with me his concern. He was also complimentary of the positive change in performance out of...

Tyrell Barker makes a rep team again hahaha its almost comical - so from what is posted above - this is not a "best of" team more of a who the clubs would release?

    Reds 2018

Yes he's been playing for Easts week in week out. I have to say when I watched him he didn't stand out. Having said that not many of the REDS contracted players have stood out on their return to club land. Is the gap between clubland and fringe reds players really that close?

Very funny game to watch - score doesn't reflect 60 mins of the game. 1-3 outstanding again. 4-5 invisible in first 60. Swinton added some spice 6-8 Wright very good. ASY (Angus Scott-Young) and Hewatt average. 9-10 and 12 Rocks or Diamonds 13 He will get all the pats on the back but his distribution is very...

I'm predicting a Sunnybank loss at home to a buoyant Souths team.My work colleague informs me this week they will be missing lots of players (I feel I have secret information hahah): Hennway - injury laloifi - injury Koliavu - injury Quick - itm Fotualii - itm Taefu - Samoa Fines - World club 10...

    Brumbies 2018

From a distance the Brumbies are very impressive with the way they go about their business, just seem to get shit done. McKellar has the humility to say he needs solid assistants around him. Lock in Lord Fisher and the impressive Cron backed with what is already there and 2018 would be off to a...

    2017 Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

There has been a number of players who literally have had no time or opportunity. Luka Malolo Blyth Anderson Riley Jooste You have to question why this is - I think it would be difficult to change out any of the front 3 as they have dominated all tourn. Why was Blyth taken over Swain? The...
