Reds Brad, I see the "traditional easy beat" comment regarding Villa. They have been steadily improving over the course of the last few years, in particular the junior grades. Gone are the days of Marist winning every age level. It is a good thing IMO.

They did a 6 week program for the year 5's up to opens in term 1 as well. It was well received.

Apart from the 1st XV, the results in the Opens and 10's were very good. The focus was on these age groups in the pre season. It's good to see Villa rugby getting stronger across all age groups. This wasn't the case a few years ago.

I reckon Villa might break the curse and win. I'm thinking no outright winner, joint premiership.

Laurie's beat MCA 41-24. 4 tries all. 21-17 Laurie's at half time. Second half for Marist was woeful. They looked completely confused and struggling with their game plan. Laurie's solid but not spectacular. The seconds was 41-0 to Marist.

Nudgee kicked into gear in the last 15 mins. Scary prospect in a couple of months

Nil all at half time in the firsts. Marist unlucky not to put two or three on the board. Nudgee too strong in the second half. Good signs for Marist for the season. Good quality game.

We are talking about a few players each year. The rest stay at clubs for their entire playing careers. Maybe they aren't happy where they are; so they go elsewhere.

I can't see the fuss about guys switching clubs. They are not being paid, maybe they want a crack at a different club. Makes for an interesting competition in my opinion.

100 percent its a new direction. Generally the teams bar the firsts would start three weeks from the end of term 1. Very fit, skilled boys for the commencement of rugby next year.
