    Schoolboy Rugby needs a review?

I I doubt that you can add the words "job security". It would depend on results I think. Those schools are cut throat places.

Easts get up off the bottom!!

    Shute Shield 2013

Agree with you on the clubs issues! But when 10 or more Waratahs come back from Super Rugby duties and slot back into Uni's 1sts, whose going to be able to match them. I believe the eligibilty rules and /or the dispensations to play finals without games played in rounds should be looked at! Just...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Having travelled to Bathurst for some years now, the boy may have looked sideways at the ref to get a card! Its tough for Sydney sides out in the West!

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Agreed scaraby, the boys referred to in this thread have nothing to be ashamed of. Most are just trying to be the best they can in their particular sport! Many have ambitions to go the whole way, and represent at the highest level. The condemnation goes to the schools that continue to deny that...

    ISA Rugby 2013

Can't answer these questions, but have heard trials will be run slightly differently this year! They won't run the Auggies team out to play all other comers! BRinging it back to a slightly more level playing field!

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Is there any one above this sort of behaviour? If they think it will add to their sporting image (and persuade a few more people to enrol) and they are highly competitive in the sporting field, then they are not above "this sort of behaviour".

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I am confused, isn't this the thread about Sporting Scholarships? Back on track - why would Scots & Newington have WaterPolo scholarships, when its not even a full AAGPS sport? Its hardly a sport that's going to lead you to the promised land and give you a fantastic career!?

And to continue the theme it's not only the GPS schools that do it! Some of the CAS & ISA schools indulge in the practice too.

Pius must be on the improve if they got that close to Cranbrook! Good to see!

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Lets not kid ourselves, these schools don't only "attract" rugby talent, its fairly common knowledge they also bring in Water polo and basketball players....cricket and swimming, probably them as well.

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

Hugh, SJRU have a new website: Juniors.rugby.com.au. I haven't studied it yet, but you should find 2013 stuff here! Although having said that, there have been years where the comp rules weren't up until after the 2nd round of games!

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

All posters need to remember that these are just school boys - 15 to 18 years old! They can also read these forums! They are playing school sport, not for sheep stations!

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

If their parents are prepared to sign the playing up/2 year window papers they can play colts!

    Colts 2013

Horwitz training & playing with Waratahs Junior Academy. It is said he'll go straight to grade for Randwick! Harry Boileau (ex Easts) apparently going to play grade as well!

Sydney Junior Rugby Union - 2013

It is unlikely to happen, but if NSWJRU closed the loopholes for U17 and U16 to play in State Champs without actually playing village club rugby, we may see a return of numbers to the field for club comps at this age! There would certainly be a much healthier U17s. As we have an AJRU, perhaps...

Sounds like a fantastic day. Nice to hear Sydney Uni doing something to benefit others!

    Waratahs 2014

Arrogant would better describe them! Do they even know that there is grass roots rugby going on in this state!
