NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

im going with the GPS hooker starting (just purely from the selection process), the CAS team arent looking as strong as usual from the reviews, and beaten by CHS whose 1s hooker is now injured, so most likely would include CAS hooker (again on the selection process), also CCC hooker could get in...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

CCC v Country this weekend Going with CCC as they have been together longer than Country (being picked yesterday) though country do have around 8 from the Hunter team who recently won the 18's Country Champs, means they know each other fairly well, still think CCC will out enthuse the typical...

any news on the CAS and CHS results from today?
  14. footy-kid

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

how can this be so? shouldnt the selectors choose on performance, i know this goes back to people blaming politics but with school rugby one of the most reputable and succesful pathways to pro-rugby, it should be based on talent, not reputation.

    NSW CHS Rugby 2011

Carr and Batho were both in CHS 2 and i agree Batho is a large and tough unit, but wouldnt say the same about Carr as hooker, was smaller in comparison to the CCC and CHS 1 hookers, heard he played some great footy at the trials but from what i saw wasnt a standout player.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2011

locks- #8 Thomas Vaessen CHS hooker- #2 Hamish Austin CCC both country with an outside shot just from what i saw at the recent trial i am expecting the hooker from CAS (i think morsello) to do well and they usually have a strong forward pack

    NSW CHS Rugby 2011

i say the CHS 6 was the best forward as well as the 8, as he made some linebreaks and was very difficult to tackle it seemed any standouts for CCC
  18. footy-kid

    NSW CHS Rugby 2011

CHS look the goods, from what i have seen in the trial, large and mobile forward pack with backs to finish, capable of scoring points against any team CCC look structured, though lacking in size, good scrums in first half, though need to work more at the breakdown as backs had sloppy ball...
