In relation to the 15 you only have to google him to see exactly who were chasing him. IMO Churchie have a great balance, but more importantly they have obviously been alot more selective in players.

Yep Fox had a blinder IMO as well. Tough uncompromising forward who rarely takes a backward step. In relation to kicking it to the 15......... Yeah well that's not real smart football at all. Most times he got the ball he put Churchie on the front foot and they played off that. Having said...

For the record I was supporting the team that won the game. Either way I think the whole school community/culture at these games are fantastic and was absolutely astound when I watched my first 1st XV game last year. Hopefully my son will one day be privileged enough to play in one of these games.:)

I was there and witnessed it as well....To see that school spirit for me shows what school/team sports is all about... We "WIN together and LOSE together"....If it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger !!!!!!!!

I truly look forward to your spiel each week....Not too sure what you do for a living but at a guess I reckon your wasted and could be doing so much more....I think the Churchie boys will be BUBBLING away come Saturday night !!!!!!!!

If Churchies forwards can hold their own I would gladly have my hard earned fortnightly Dole cheque on them....

Agree Rugbyhead and I know 9 currently playing in the GPS comp that have contracts. I think you will find even these guys didn't sign contracts before turning 15. As a whole the vest majority only have scholarships and the like as I stated. The big thing these days is to get a 3 year contract...

Their not signed mate. They put them on scholarships and into development squads, flick them a few shirts, bags, pay for schooling, "Elite training sessions" and hope 1 out of 50 is the next Benji Marshall.

Fair enough, I know guys associated with coaching schoolboy rep league teams and believe it or not but the biggest representation from scouts at carnivals are GPS schools. I know the favs for this years 1st XV were training pretty hard late last year for this year but I suppose others were as...

Got a fair idea on which Brisbane private school may have been spoken about here.... http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/queensland-rugby-league-says-nrl-rookie-draft-should-be-used-to-protect-teenage-players/story-fn2mcuj6-1227020990538

I find it quite amusing on here that people are claiming other codes are getting some of the better players and the QRU aren't keeping them in union......What I can tell you as a fact is that 90% of these kids in question already have plenty of runs on the board with other codes. You need only...

Well said mate, they are all just kids having a crack. I know the player in question personally and his a good kid, his actually dropped league for the time being to concentrate on school footy.

They didn't have to pay a cent !!!!!!!!! It was up for renewal and like the papers stated he had 4 NRL teams, the Reds and a few AFL teams chasing him...And yes his is a contract as apposed to a scholarship. I think plenty be surprised if they knew what his deal was, put it this way the Broncos...
