I agree with everything you said except the bit about normal fee paying students from year 7. None of us know for sure about each case but I strongly suspect (and know in some cases) that league is reimbursing the parents the school fees. So yes, it appears they are normal fee paying students...

For the integrity of the comp, either it should be banned altogether or it should be limited. The theme of ‘preserving the integrity of the comp’ is big in professional sport at the moment (athletics eg). The NRL has a salary cap for this very reason and it makes most of the NRL games close...

I’m also biased towards Kings. The game against Joeys this week will give everyone a better idea how they are travelling. Last years game was brutal. Re kings v Wav, Kings let in 2 soft try’s in the first half against Wave but then fought back in the 2nd half with 13 players. It looked bad...

I have seen auggies, barker and Waverley play and all are very good. The gps comp could be won by anyone ex shore. Whoever turns up each week will win....and a loss may not matter. Kings and joeys were better last year after a loss.

The crowd was ok. I didn’t see the official number. The crowd was boosted by the kings and Waverley families who stayed on and the junior club march past. The steep stadium helps amplify any noise.

The kings v Waverley game was much more entertaining than the tahs. The tahs miss Izzie in attack.

Waverley have some very big great players. Kings lifted in the 2nd half but i think Waverley also ran out of puff....and it was only a 70min game.

Kings were without at least 3 star backs, including Connolly who suffered a bad head knock last week. I think they are also doing without a few front line forwards. Kings are blooding players.....as I’m sure some other schools are. I know of at least 1 star player from joeys who is being rested.

Both academic and sport prowess can be achieved. The top girls schools achieve both.
