    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

I know it's a loss but it still seems like an outstanding result.

I don't have anywhere near the the intimate knowledge of the rugby landscape that you have Mauler. From what I can see is that the problem doesn't lie with the quality of our SIRU team. It lies with who we play. We ideally should be playing against a number of teams over a weekend. The teams...

OK Mauler. I'm probably wrong and I don't have a problem with you correcting me if I am. Didn't we play Far South Coast for example because they lie in Brumbies territory. They are inferior to SIRU. I don't really know about Monaro but I'm guessing they are better quality than FSC but still...

Gee that's a brave prediction Francis. If FSC/Monaro has proven to be such a future sustainable rep structure why have so few FSC/Monaro players been included in the Brumbies Provincial squad.

Well done to the SC/Monaro rep team being beaten today but putting in a formidable performance against Southern Inland. 41 - 13.

I can see where people are talking this game up as a contest. It won't be. The FSC/Monaro team wouldn't beat a lot of the Reserve grade teams in this comp. 50+ A waste of weekend rugby in SIRU.

Did anyone see the Blacks /Aggies game? Blacks seem to have improved significantly to lead 22-5 at 1/2 time. After that it was all Aggies. Did Blacks lack player no.s and have players backing up from their 2s or did Aggies really get their act together after 1/2 time?

I see your point Bandar. I do have an issue with the importation of players into sporting clubs in rural areas. I live in Griffith and follow the Blacks. I have no idea of what is happening in Leeton. However when rural town sporting clubs replace local players with imported (usually paid)...

The rumours started with you Bandar on Thursday at 10:05 pm. "They did play a combination of Fiji and Rebels U20s". Quote unquote mate.

Whatever the argument about Albury's reign of success the fact remains that the players playing for Albury lived in that community for the year. Are Leeton's imports FIFO. Surely that's not cricket or in this case rugby.

Just looking at the Siru site it appears that 80% of the Leeton team could be Fijian. That's fine by me. Fijian people are wonderful people. But if it is true that players are being sent from the Rebels and the Fijian Rugby Union every weekend to play for Leeton surely there should be some...

Obviously if we are looking to the long term future of the game we look to our juniors. SIRU Juniors moved to an even age group so we would have an U16s age group. There are only 2 teams nominated. Griffith and Temora. The home of SIRU. 60000 pop Wagga Wagga can't get 15 kids interested enough...

5 Yellow Cards? A team playing against Waratahs? That's very strange. Who would have thought?

I just read on the Griffith Area News facebook page that the Griffith Blacks are on the verge of signing an o'seas International Level coach who is currently touring with the national 7s team. Apparently his son is a player in that country too and will be playing for the Blacks this season as...

What I understand the situation to be is that SIRU Junior framework has no legal status. 2 years ago SIRU Juniors voted to move to an even age group ie 14s 16s etc but the decision was overruled by SIRU Seniors. I don't really think a lot of 17/syear old boys would be encouraged to to play rugby...

Re Colt style comp. I think if we could get 4 teams to form a competition in 2017 it could lead to an expansion in the future. The reason I suggested U19'S was that a lot of kids start Uni at that age. If Reddies, Aggies and Griffith could form teams then we'd only need to get another club involved.

Is there any consideration being given to some sort of set up for a colts comp in 2017. Maybe an Under 19s competition. There isn't anywhere for our younger players to go except to other sports.

Everybody seems to be writing off the Blacks in their game against Tumut. Distance. History. The cold weather. Everybodysmatesam. The Bulls best take team photos before games. My mail is the Adelong S&C will not be the best place for happy snaps after the mud splatters.

Sorry Sam, perhaps the term 'rub of the green' would have been more appropriate.
