    Where to for Super Rugby?

True, I note that a team called the Waratah played in the Shute shield back in the 1800's - and at one point they were the the National team. So some weird history as to how they came to the state rep team. But if we go down the NRC on Steroids route (my preferred option) then I think...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I simply dont buy the argument that Super Rugby has to be Near Test Standard to be viewable and entertaining. Watch any of the last few years SS Grand finals from recent years. Mostly close games, very entertaining. I am assuming even a diluted NRC should leave us at least at this level or...

    Shute Shield 2020

Clutch TV guys doing Grassroots Rugby show on Facebook. Worth a look, this one is the first and called a pilot. Hope they keep going with it. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=741640513049233

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Option 1 = create 1 more provincial side has merit. They were in the throws of putting together a Barbarians side for this years Super AU to make a 6 team comp, but was canned. Its a shame because I think it had merit. Add the Drua and the Sunwolves and we are at 8. That would be the...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Because we were greedy and thought More was better, and expansion was clearly the way forward back then. Now we are addicted and we want ALL 5 to stay

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I disagree. I think you will find a country side getting plenty of support out of many regional centres. And given its a new comp, give it time, the intrastate rivalry will be epic. AND, I am not against QH Northern Bears side, based somewhers between North Sydney/Chatswood/Manly &...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So the top 4/5 clubs from Sydney and Brisbane are going to be pretty close and could form the basis of a competitive and even National comp. I really dont know how competitive and what standard we are looking at with ACT/Melbourne and Perth. Think these might be in for a flogging, and if...

    Waratahs 2020

Nothing Quasi about it, its a legit sporting scholarship - if he wasn't good at sport he wouldn't be getting his fees paid. As for the second part, was he enrolled at birth?, when was he enrolled?, was he on a waiting list? Did he gain enrollment over another boy that was on a waiting list...

    Waratahs 2020

It says way more about the character of the schools involved to allow that situation in the first place and use it to their own unfair advantage. (stinky bait for some)

    Shute Shield 2020

The radio guys didn't see it at all, so you could be right and not much in it. They were talking about a deliberate slap down and possibly a penalty try being awarded to Warringah. So they assumed it was for foul play off the ball when the red card was given for a tip tackle. Sounds like it...

I only listened to the radio call, but wasnt it the fullback that was Red Carded? Thought the said Hutchinson went off injured

    Where to for Super Rugby?

City/country is the obvious way to go in both NSW & QLD. Not sure what you mean by viable. I am assuming they will have the same budget as the other teams, so should be able to put competitive teams out there. Where they play and how big a crowd is not know. But we know the city teams...

    Shute Shield 2020

I like them sharing it around. But I do think they should avoid games likely to be very one sided. Thats not good viewing and a good promotion of Rugby. I think it would be smarter to wait for the rounds when the weaker sides are playing each other
