I think at the time, I was on the fence, could have been a good fit, and possibly the utility back the Tahs needed then. This is now and I think those spots are covered - he's not going to value add much I don't think.

Sorry, I meant Union bench - I don't really care about NRL bench. I must have misread some of the above thread - was thinking there was some discussion about size of union benches. My bad

How big was the bench before? I thought it's always been 8 on the bench? (It is probably that I have been unobservant or quite forgetful of things from before yesterday)

It's actually a bit funny them targeting union players after hearing for years the NRL is so much more intense and union player wouldn't cope

I've found he's good doing the "colour" in commentary, doing pre/mid/post game. Rather than during a game. If you cut through some of the waffle and pseudo -name dropping, there's some good content. He knows a bit. But I thought this was the Wob coach thread, not the Sonny-Bil bad thread

I've seen one Kiwi being negative on it - seems to be against the prevailing view though. And I'm not sure if he's negative on the coach, or just Aus rugby fullstop.
