Not knowing any of the players at the 3rd colts finals, I was very impressed by the overall quality of the match and the skill levels of both sides.
Randwick kept their composure better than Uni who spent a lot of the match a man down.
The 9 and 10 for Wicks stood out and the 4 had good skills...
A slightly chilly but Sunny day at The Wicks as the Rats are made welcome by a good crowd.
Some subtle jabs about the ARU and professional rugby heard around the ground conversations for some lead up.
Excitement was the order of the day starting with Fourth grade.
The Rats go ahead, then the...
Easts financially hard done by this year on their home oval but showing plenty of character in keeping 4 teams on the paddock and playing on a surface no wallaby will be allowed to train on.
Wicks playing pretty good rugby at this point in the season but injury stocks seem high. Anymore and we may see Finigan back as well.
Still think they need some more options in their backline moves to be a serious threat but so far so good
I agree. Norths looked disjointed against Randwick but when they got going they looked very dangerous. Also thought their large winger was better than his more fancied opponent.
G'day Macca and others
You missed a great day , good crowd and very good rugby.
4ths well beaten at 31-10. Uni went round the outside all day. Wicks needed the hit out and as long as their ball handling improves will win more than they lose.
3rds lost 12-19 in a tight game until the wicks...
Lovely day at Southern Districts except for the woeful display by the Wicks Firsts. They started well with a good running try in the opening minute or two but then Outplayed in the backs by a souths team willing to run from anywhere.
Wicks answer was to try grubbers, chips , pops and a host of...
For those who missed the Wicks reserves win their grand final- some slightly hazy memories below
A tale of two halves as Wicks opened the scoring when the Wicks 10 jumped on a lose ball and got clear down the left side to offload a perfectly timed pass for wicks to score in the corner. A...
The Wicks put on a spectacular day hosting the Rats at Coogee.
This being the last round of the competition a hint of desperation was to be expected.
Fourths had a good day against a tenacious rats team that refused to give in without a fight. The Wicks were good when they went wide and the rats...
Talking of referees performances I am finding it difficult to understand the difference in interpretation between Shute shield and super rugby.
Lying over the ball at the ruck and handling on the ground seems OK in shield but not at super level.m
Hosts Eastwood have their back to Eastwood day and a large crowd to enjoy their club giving a lesson in rugby to the visiting wicks.
Fourth grade lost 30-12 but showed a much better attitude in tackling than last week. They were outplayed for the most part by east woods clever use of a bus to...
Wicks being hosted by the southern districts on a beautiful sunny day being quite the contrast to the last time they met.
Fourth grade had the ire of the ref all day and received a number of yellow cards. to be fair, the ref had an off day but the lack of tackling was evident again after their...
