Interesting to see if Phantoms can put a good 1st grade team on the field this year Mauler. Controversial as ever Mauler I don’t think they will be able do it. Good luck to Leeton though I hope they can come up with something.
I didn’t even think of it in those terms Reasoning. I thought what if 1/2 through the season they withdraw from the competition do we just accept the situation again like we have in the past?
It’s difficult to believe we are considering the Leeton scenario again. They’ve pulled out of different grades over a number of years. Even the girls team were withdrawn during last season I believe. What happens if yet again the Phantoms leave the rest of the competition in the lurch?
Why not leave 10s as is Wal re girls game. Seems entertaining and successful. Here at Griffith we don’t have a designated Rugby ground. The Sporties as it’s known Wal is really for AFL and cricket. I even think the great dressing shed/ canteen/lights facilities that we have at the ground were...
Nice to see the humility you talk about Linerunner extends to supporters such as yourself. You do say specifically Tahs were extremely well coached. By pointing to City’s massive size advantage, their one out style of play and their lack of a Plan B you are obviously implying Wagga City were...
That’s true Mauler with that round just gone. I was shocked at the Bulls Steamers score line. I know Reddies are the butt of jokes but there’s not that much between them Blacks, Steamers and Deni at the moment.
Hi Mauler. In other circumstances I think Waratahs would be a bit easy going towards Reddies. But in this situation the top 3 teams have to be ruthless. I’m going 80. Griffith are sending over an OK team but Aggies are classy. Thinking 50. City can really pile on the points but it’s at Deni...
Points are what it’s all about this round. How big a score can Waratahs run up against Reddies at home. Who reckons 100? Griffith has won its last 2. What score will Aggies put on Blacks at home? What about City at Deni? Is anyone willing to be honest and not politically correct/ conservative...
Reasoning there is no problem with rugby in Griffith. Some players with season injuries, transient workforce and some older players retiring. The results haven’t been there but that was expected. Good playing and training numbers. 4 grades no forfeits. Happy club with good culture. Re-building...
Seems like 90% of teachers in primary schools are female these days. Maybe Reddies are suffering because a big % of people enrolled in courses are female in that part of the uni.
From what I can understand most of the Griffith Blacks Womens team didn't nominate to be part of the Representative program. I apologise for insinuations implied in previous comments.
Reasoning, regarding mens side of Blacks club. There is no great problem. The situation is just a consequence of living in a community which is based on work which can be temporary. A lot of our players work in the wineries, in poultry production with Steggles, seasonal farm work etc. Culture at...
Given a NRL player is moving to ARU on 1.6m per year it’s a bit hypocritical to continue our amateur status in rural areas. Lets just go professional. Same with match officials.
Until Reasoning provided the guidelines I was unaware what they were. I’m also unaware what anachronistic means. Regardless of the sympathetic views Namtrak may have on the subject, if parameters exist each club must operate within them. If one club is providing financial assistance in SIRU...
That is interesting Reasoning. Obviously there are people who believe some clubs in this zone are providing financial assistance to certain players outside the mostly amateur guidelines you have set out above. If true the clubs involved should lose their points.
