To the players unsuccessful in
making ozboy selection, keep your head up and know that everyone around u is proud of you. It is only the opinion of a handful of selectors and often it's the style of rugby they want the team to play that determines selection of players.
My son was unfortunate...
Well done to the Uni and Souths players for an outstanding game of fast paced, physical, running rugby yday afternoon. The game sure lived up to the hype . Special mention to Souths for playing a credible game without your coach (who flew overseas during the week on a personal matter). Look...
Souths forwards gave a solid first half performance. Second half Wicks came out with more fire and determination stepping up play another level and scoring three quick consecutive tries. The vocal Randwick Supporters seemed to play a part in the win. A great afternoon of rugby.
I thought the entire team played well. With some average refereering, boys did well to keep up the momentum and keep the pressure on. Will be unfortunate to loose Waldo. Do u mean he may play up in grade?
Yes. Rahboni Warren-Vosayaco has played most of his rugby years as #12 for school and club and only this year moved into the forwards and making an impact. So he could be another option if need be.
Interesting that two OSFs and one BSF were selected for the Australian side and one OSF and two BSFs selected in the A's. Wonder how far down the pecking order he was?
I saw some of his games, rarely saw him though as he was always at the bottom of the ruck getting in and doing the hard work. Unlike his #7 counterparts who seemed to be in full view most often. Maybe he needs to stand out of the ruck a bit more to get noticed, but then that defeats the role...
Apparently he backed up yesterday and helped his first Grade Colts side win against Warringah, Rat Park. As bruised and battered as he was after a week of school boy rugby physically (and probably emotionally not making selection) great attitude to get back out there on the park.
Its unfortunate that a few more didn't make it. IMO J Vainikolo, E Craig and A Delore had consistently strong games in the lead up games.
I also thought the GPS forwards against CHS were dominate at the breakdown and did a great job at protecting the ball ensuring no turnover. Seems as though...
Well done to the three CHS boys Rahboni, Brandon and Andrew for making NSW I and II Open squads. Good luck at Nationals.
Hopefully a few more CHS Players will be named in the Combined states team.
