The big fella has been overseas since July so i doubt you've been seeing him much. Maybe a dopleganger?
Have word from royals insiders that he's already back into pre-season looking to a big 2016 so watch this space!
Heard easts may have a few new recruits?
Can someone explain to me the criteria for squad selection?
I was under the impression it was for players who were not contracted to a super rugby franchise in 2015. Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't Rod Iona contracted to the Brumbies this year?
Hamlin at the moment is better than powell (give him time though), Tyson Tamihere and Steve sione need to be in there somewhere and ben johnston better than any of their back 3
Staniforth and Dowsett are both having stints with the Country Eagles.
And apparently Sean Doyle has left the Brumbies. Apparently Brumbs weren't happy with a few indiscretions. Most recently a Red card in the local comp, failing to attend judiciary. Paid out the last year of his 2 year deal.
Below is the team i think we will see game 1. Depending on how many new players/combos he wants to test straight up. Phipps and Foley have already been seen a lot in the past 12 months.
1.Slipper
2.Moore
3.Kepu
4.Skelton
5.Simmons
6.Fardy
7.Pocock
8.Mcalman
9.Genia
10.Cooper
11.Horne
12. Gits...
On a separate note, did anyone see the head injury to one of the royals second grade players? Reliable word has it he was stomped on by the tuggies 15. Does anyone know what sort of punishment this behaviour would entail?
Royals were missing quite a few players. Thought it would be obvious with a completely new back 3 (1 of them being a forward). In the backs they were missing craig mcmahon, tim cornforth, ben johnson, jamie bodman and tim cornforth (thats 5/7 for those playing at home). They also dropped down 2...
Yeah i partly agree. He's a great player and has really worked on his still under the high ball, however realistically he had one really good game in the semis and hasn't really shone at an international level given his chances. I think Horne is the form winger but you need someone with raw pace...
Completely agree. Its nice to have some tough decisions. The bench will be very interesting. Going off my starting 15 you have Cooper, Beale, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Kerevi, Naiyaravoro, Gits and Speight/Mitchell/Horne all vying for 2 spots. Lealiifano and Tomane will be unfortunate omissions.
I'm envious of NZ's...
I think you're spot on with most of those. All forwards i would agree with, could perhaps see McCalman instead of higgers (as much as i rate him), but knowing Chek we'll end up with Wycliff Pillow. I think they will go with Phipps at 9 to keep the combination . I would go with To'omua at 12...
I have heard from numerous accounts that the first grade incident was indeed in poor taste. I'm all for celebrating a bit (legal) shot but when a player is rendered unconscious there is a line. An incident happened against easts last year when one of our players was knocked out and having a fit...
I think that is a very ignorant view.
There is always a line that should be drawn. I'm aware they like to make it a hostile environment but parents should be able to come and watch their son play without having to deal with swearing, derogatory comments and casual racism. Definitely cross the...
