I think it is more that he has put too high a price on the super rugby rights, which has forced the FTA networks to withdraw from the bidding.
Ten were very interested in having some super rugby games on their old sports channel ONE. But, the price was too high.
I do agree.
To be a technical nitpicker, the socceroos still could have qualified through a playoff round. But, that doesn't changed the validity of your point.
My point, which I didn't articulate very well is that: I think that rugby fanatics and rugby decision makers are often surrounded...
I did mention Gregan and Larkham - not explicitly - if you notice the sections describing how barnes and burgess were replacements. Yes, Latham was neglected, but there was an adequate replacement there in AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Hynes or Mitchell.
After every world cup, or every year of test footy, there are...
There are world cup qualifiers every four years. There is a british and irish lions series once every 12 years.
We are in denial if we cannot see the trend that is happening. From the wallabies, to the shute shield, to the grass roots, rugby is in decline (be that relatively or absolutely).
I think it is bullshit to suggest that Deans took over a team that was in shambles as somehow indicating that he did a good job. The team he took was poorly ranked due to a horrific world cup, but it had a huge amount of talent.
The poor ranking wasn't reflective of what had happened in...
That's a pretty damming assessment of Deans. Its strange as they seemed quite chummy at the crusaders. In the excerpts from the article I read in the SMH McCaw essentially states the he told Steve Tew that Henry would be a better coach than Deans.
So why exactly is Barnes going to play 12? Is because M. Foley doesn't rate Carter or Halangahu has been playing to well to be left out? I understand this is something that has been in the works for a bit.
I really do like Barnes at 10.
Whilst it's not strictly rugby related, I reckon it has a potentially big impact on Rugby. If the mods want to move it then fair enough.
With my concern for rugby being so great these days, I can't but help feeling a little glad when I hear bad news about our rival codes.
Now that Big Clive...
I just can't understand why you would kick the ball away with 30 seconds to go. I said to my Dad as McKibbon went for the box-kick that it was 'a fucking horrible idea'. He disagreed. 30 seconds later I won my first argument against my Dad.
I may have slightly jumped the gun before. I was slightly annoyed at the temerity of the man as IMO he is the only one who would of leaked that story. He may very well have been interviewed. ADUG was certainly casting a wide net looking for the new man city CEO, but the general agreement seems...
I can see o'neill doing something like that but , that article is a load of shit. O'neill was never considered. I wouldnt be surprised if he threw his name out there for the media beat up.
David Potts, who was a chief executive of tesco's, was considered to be the second choice of man city.
