Not sure they are rubbish?? The harsh reality and accurate comments would be fairly well supported through their on-field efforts and player numbers of recent times. The comments that are thrown around regarding 'ups and downs' etc.. are the comments which I (and many others) feel are the old...
Heard from a couple of reasonable sources that conversations around CSU have included two unpleasant words; "crisis meeting"
Such a sad demise and indictment on such a once proud and successful club.
Well done to the Reddies for getting this done, Im told he can coach. He'll need to gather the 'troops' together, as Spain cost them at least 12months in development of their desired culture. I commend the president admitting they need to work hard for the student vote. As for your comment...
I just broke a rib laughing mate!
Numbers? If they don't get into the student population, they're as good as dead. At this stage, they don't even rate a mention in the student body. Aggies will have 100+ on the books in 2017, whereas CSU will be in the turvey tavern Friday night looking to round...
Thanks for the reply.
The reason I've stated City as the team for CDU to merge with is for a number of reasons. Historically, it was an unwritten rule that the students who played for the uni, when they completed their bachelors & if they were staying in town would play for City. The exact same...
From what I know, CSU will not get any interest from anyone. They'll beg an old boy to try and do a rescue job, but even they won't be able to save them. the day they went away from being an authentic Uni club and putting students first was the day they began their slow death. It's a shame, but...
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Hobbs the Tahs player who mouthed off at a Griffith player a couple of years back? Seem to remember he was given a little touch up for his troubles.... Seems to be a pattern of unsportsmanlike behaviour from him.
I saying that, Honeyman, Facebook isn't the...
From what you hear around the traps and read between the lines, it seems each of the three mentioned above jumped before they could be pushed...
Let the silly season begin...
CSU v Waratahs.
Three digits for the second consecutive week for the Tah's. CSU are a basket case on and off the field and will be running scared on Saturday. Waratahs by 100+.
Albury v Leeton
Steamers to bounce back from last weeks thrashing. Leeton may find the conditions down on the border a...
Albury (7) v CSU (8)
Steamers by 20. A fall from grace for the steamers in 2016. Bound to happen after many years at the top. Another nail in the coffin for CSU, who will need a complete over hall (and a minor miracle) if they're to remain afloat in 2017. Despite reports of 'honorable' losses...
Wagga City tested Waratahs in patches yesterday, but the cream rose to the top in the end. City have turned a corner though it seems. Waratahs depth is incredibly strong and their two's would be in the top 4 if they played in the First Grade comp!
Aggies not scoring point in their last 120 mins...
Enjoyed reading the article in the DA about the CSU lads.
"Honorable losses" Not at all. plain and simple.
"typical uni club" sorry, but you're far, far from that.
"We are not far away, it will happen". I'm closer to a traineeship with NASA than CSU are to a win.
"We are playing well and...
Albury (6) v Ag College (4)
The Steamers get over the line in this one by 14. The Steamers are in the rather unfamiliar position of flying under the radar in 2016 and Aggies are on a high after last weekend, but I think Aggies will be up against a more polished and well oiled machine this...
I'm going to respectfully disagree with you Bubba. It's more than simply a tough patch or a case of peaks ang troughs. My guess is that they go for a quick fix with some recruits from the UK or South Pacific. This will only further alienate them from the student body. CSU have lost the student...
my spies tell me that CSUs fortunes this year had been forecasted years ago. 99% of students play for Ag College, means they have no sustainable depth or culture within the club. This was evident when the current thinking by the coach was to fill the 1st XV with poms, scots or it seems anyone...
Leeton (3) v Albury (6) - Im going for Leeton on this one. Albury seem a bit flat and combine that with a long road trip to the MIA, Leeton to win 15+.
Ag College (5) v Griffith (4) – Match of the Round - Ag College to sneak home against the Blacks. Home ground advantage and the students...
A few belated predictions for 2016.....
Premiers - Waratahs
GF - Waratahs V Albury
Close but no cigar - Tumut to suffer the heartbreak of a 1 point loss to the Steamers in the prelim.
DeJa Vu - Leeton. Pipped in the prelim...again
Big Improvers - City. Finally, after many, many years and pumped...
Not sure I agree entirely there Sam.
The purpose of any rugby forum (or any forum for that matter) is for robust and lively debate about topical issues. It is my opinion, after reading thrug the entire thread today, that this is a place for healthy and passionate discussion from all involved...
If CSU's student base was approximately 50%, I'll eat my shorts!! Friends and colleagues of mine who are affiliated with Ag College, tell me the figure is more like 15-20%. From what I saw last season I'd agree. I think the general feeling is that the Reddies are not facing up to the cold hard...
Unlikely that Ross would be regretting his move, as a depleted Ag College would still be better than anything CSU will put in the park this year.
I believe Ag College could stand on its own, easy to come to this deduction as they have plenty of numbers and draw 90% of them from the uni. CSU on...
