Ash came back when the yr 11s came on. Strange composition favouring yr 12s in this team when the yr 11 cohort is far more talented. Young Xavier Howard (yr 10) is also the best inside centre at the school.
Kicking penalties is part of the game. Need to take them and kick em.
Not surprised by...
A few of the yr 11 Marist boys stood up against NC when given the chance. Young Jack Forrester was one. Is he still playing for East's RL (storm affiliated)?
Congrats must go out to Padua 8As and 9As for great wins. Too much league style play from MCA rather than focussing on being a team. Solo running and forwards not getting in there. Too many flash plays from the MCA inside backs in the 9s game...trust your in-centre, run straoght and get it wide...
Good to see a close comp.
I understand that the 2022 / 23 years at Lauries and Iona are good. Iona may get depleted though in the future by ACGS as has been the trend.. MCAs current yr 9s (2024) is best chance moving forward for the grovers . Possibly a yr earlier, though its already a team full...
A very poor MCA currently getting done by a not as poor SLC.
The standard of game and players from both teams well below previous years. Hope SLC hold on and get up given the ordinary earlier results I saw earlier. MCA need much improvement particularly inside backs. Only positive for MCA is...
Was out at Runcorn today.
SLC rugby program is in dire need of a total rebuild.
The once mighty black and gold use to share parity with the grovers. Just a shaddow now.
I did not hear of a MCA rugby team that lost by the time I had left (I hope Iam wrong). And I hope the SLC firsts go close.
In...
Very scrappy game. MCA dominant but lacking the size and skill of the last few years. Next couple of years will be pretty even with a strong Iona and SLC.
The current year 9 MCA cohort is strong and looks the strongest prospect of locking in a rugby premiership.
Any other trial form?
In respect...
Was down at the kennel to watch the battle of the bulls...In that respect the bullsharks were too strong for the bulldogs. Best for Bond were 13, 5, 4 and 7. For Wests the 11 was very quick (but will be sore tmrw). Wests forwards dominated the scrum and lineout where bond was poor. What aided...
Feel sorry for the opens.
At the end of the day whilst most will not be happy with the call, have to suck it up.
Best of luck to the Class of 2020 across the AIC schools.
Look forward to seeing some of you on a big screen in the future.
Yet to be confirmed but if George St shuts down AIC this weekend (Due to the Eddies situation) that it will go to for and against. May have been part of the admin rules done at the re-start of covid sports season incase no GF...stay tuned....and fingers crossed not the case.
Word is that thanks to the virus out at the switch and impacting Eddies the chief medical officer is going to make a call on AIC sport going ahead this weekend. May be a non event.
Iona will be very hard to beat for the next few years. MCAs 11 cohort are ok but 9 and 10 not as strong. Year 8 cohort very strong with alot of these boys prob making 1XV in year 11 (and a couple like Tom Howard) in yr10.
In the late 1980s they had Grand Finals and they were always held at MCA...
John Bryant is a great player and leader indeed. On paper, games to date and trial form though MCA have the depth across the park. They didnt play that well against Padua and still managed to pile on the points. Only got 2/7 kicks or there abouts as well and the ball didnt really get out wide to...
