By the way i’m not disrespecting Pats or Peters but like Marist you just can’t lose your first two games and win it. But those sides have the power to influence or derail who does win it if anyone thinks they are easybeats.

to be fair to Pats, if anyone goes in to play against them and thinks they are easy beats they are in for a shock. Pats will shake some cages - take them lightly at your peril is my call. Agree that Villa V SLC is shaping as the match of the round.

Summary of Villa Pats. Pats were gritty and never gave up. A lot of tough kids in that side but Villa never really looked threatened. IMO Villa left 2 or 3 tries out there through backline white line fever. Also it seemed apparent there was a “Marist Hangover” going on in the Villa boys heads...

no insight really just an observation , Iona lost their captain and best player in the trial - he is out for maybe 4-6 weeks with a broken arm i understand. Big blow i would think.

Yeah Lauries always turn up. They will be strong / they play a very good structure and Pat Richards is an old stager as a coach. They will be a threat no mistake.

If Easts beat Bond and South’s get up over Wests next week then Norths will land in the top four. Based on their game against Wests on Saturday if that transpires then i would not want to be to be the team playing them in the semi finals. They will be dangerous. Probably a long shot for results...

my analysis is this - SLC deserved winners - Eddie’s and Peters were really competitive and Villa wasn’t far behind - Ashgrove underachieved like big time but did enough to maintain credibility. Padua and Pats need to do some work - like real work else next year they will be just speed bumps.

Congrats SLC great win and well deserved premiership. Eddie’s deserve big congrats for having a great season also. But i guess the other question is what the hell happened to Iona ? I was told they were a very very strong age group and they only won one game ?
