I agree with this, the game has turned a corner, hopefully it goes well. From a league perspective, it is great to see that union people are finally seeing the real commercial competitor (who is very very aggresive commercially ) is AFL. Additionally from a p[articipation perspective it is...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

ehhhh the sychophancy from some union fans towards AFL whilst, the AFL takes over your schools and your previous heartlands is sad. Atleast back in the day there was an appreciation between the rugby codes. I am not sure if your post is serious ie you would like a response re the variations...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Nope it wasnt the best game and you get that with GFs some are great, some not so much, same with any game really. Big thing was the atmosphere wasn't as good due to covid and seating. What would be great for rugby league is a GF without the storm / chooks or to a lesser extent manly in it.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yeah I am surprised more 9s havent been targetted by union. Cooky is great best nine NSW has had pretty much since I have been watching the game..

    Where to for Super Rugby?

tbh gutherson with the whole parra squad is overrated. Hes the kind of player who looks pretty good at club level, but does not have the size, speed, skill to go next level. Also I would take cam murray > crichton... though union does favour bigger players over fitter ones... and maybe...

State of the Union (origin) discussion

tbh I think if it is going to work good on ARU. Whether it will or not, we will see. I personally think that rugbys strength is its local club sides and it should work with and around them.

A lot of hype for a bloke who hasn’t run around yet. Tbh I’m not sure 500k per year is the best use of your salary cap on an unproven commodity but who knows maybe he turns out great for whomever.

Why the hatred towards rugby league

Competitiveness - Maybe on the beaches? but NSRL is not at all, no teams by grade generally short of numbers (usually only one team per age group and not many teams once kids are all off to private schools at 13 etc) so we would take anyone and give them a good run around. Thank you for your...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

Not at all, being more involved in league culture I understand where league comes from. I was involved in public school union then a tiny bit of private school union as a teenager is my experience with union culture. Obviously, both sides prefer there game and find the other game less...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

The afl hate is understandable - deep down they know league is a tougher game and probably wouldn’t hack it... union and league don’t have the problem as they are about equal in roughness. also in afls mind league is stopping there march to take over Australia sporting and tv market. there...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

Read the sun for afl player behaviour. Don’t get me wrong I’m not going to defend league player behaviour but incidence being reported on goes to the popularity of a sport in a location. Take Mitch Pearce for example, went to barker, still has a lot of interest coz he plays. See Bosnich no one...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

U Read the article peter Knox union and league merge. Count the respect and the comments you will find a lot more hate from union. Like not liking one game for whatever reason is fine, but there are comments about the fans..

Why the hatred towards rugby league

That is the history of rugby league is struggling. And really that article would have only resonated to the hard core. Sort of like Peter fitzsimmons rubbish’s league on tv and in the paper constantly, it only annoys the hardcore not the masses as they probably wouldn’t bother reading an...

Why the hatred towards rugby league

I tend to avoid the smh, for obvious reasons but Malcolm knoxs article from a business perspective agreed with me. I grew up on the north shore and reading into the history I understand the rugby league perspective to be wary of union organisation ( not the union people) However after reading...
