A family member had the pleasure of having a couple of not so quiet ones with Phil at a local pub after the Townsville win. Echoed your positive sentiments, and then some. Really feels more and more like his appointment was a deft choice.
Hells teeth from this side of the Tasman, the Waugh/Herbert combo seem to be a bloody good choice for Aus Rugby. They reall seem to have fingers on pulse and taking game forward, and I know some in Melbourne disagree, just saying how it seems from afar. A big bloody plus.

They (NZR) are more than entitled to think ‘who gives a fuck about AFL’ as well as ‘maybe this is why you haven’t beaten us for 20 something years if you care so much about this prancing poodle sport’ and that’s fine but their bigger issue is not being commercially minded with regards to their most important partner. They need our engagement in the long run or they’ll just end up on the same trajectory that we have been on for 20 years.
