Andrea Piardi is Italian, and his nationality is irrelevant. He's just a very poor ref and he once again ruined a game like he did in the 2nd Lions test. He should not be referring big games.

I thought that was a proper test match, f*** all in it. The ref seemed to make interesting decisions both bloody ways too. This is a genuinely good Wallabies' team, and I will take the win anyday!

Given it was made at around the 65min mark, after that performance, I really don't blame him.

I have the utmost respect for referees of this game, and an even greater respect for the limitations of human performance and the nature of human error. However, that was a fucking abhorrent performance.

My understanding is the refereeing team gets together (with a WR (World Rugby) overlord) and has a review of the entire game early in the next week. I am less clear around the what happens when there are numerous clangers identified...

They claim they do, but I have yet to ever see any ref actually punished so probably a waste of time like most things the suits at World Rugby

Nah, completely different. Tate's legs weren't targeted, they unfortunately just become twisted (and/or did the splits) due to the pressure from the cleanup. Hopefully only a minor hammy tear, but didn't look great

I think they get assigned for heavy rotation in Wallabies' tests.

Should be happy with the teams performance but just kinda angry...i counted at least 6 decision against us in that last 30 mins that were basically indefensible

We had our poor moments but we seemed to have our momentum taken away from us through poor calls each time except for maybe the 30-40th minute
