Can try and build some interest in the comp next season. Anyone want to make some bold predictions on how teams will go.

Padua lose their undefeated team but will have a few players back for 2026.

Ashgrove have the winning 10A team graduating into Open rugby.

Can Laurie's get back to their winning ways.

Who are the other schools on the rise?

Villa extremely strong in this age group. Ashgrove have a couple of Reds Under 15 forwards who will feature. They have three forwards from 2025 to return. Strong forward pack, not sure about the backline make up.

Iona will bounce back after a disappointing season in 25. They seem to always have a strong scrum and some exciting backs.

Pat's have a few youngsters coming through, a coupe of front rowers backing up.

Ashgrove 2nds had a lot of year 11's this year so will be interesting to see how they mix with the 10's.

Peter's to show some improvement, they will be a slow build.

Laurie's will continue to be near the top of the table. 10A's were second and the younger McKay back.

Like @FlyingWedge said, almost the entire Villa team is back. They had a bad half against Ashgrove, ran Padua close and lost to Laurie's in round 1.

No idea about Eddie's, seems like a lot of issues out west in recent years.

Padua will go on their European Tour again in 2026; however, a lot of their older players will not be attending. Should be a good opportunity to develop the current Year 10's coming off the back of an "undefeated season". They are also taking a younger side as well. I'm excited to see how the squad will shape up.

Villa most likely to have the most returning players in 2026, will be interesting to see what impact that experience adds.

Greetings forum,
Haven't done my research on the players this year
anyone bold enough to give us a top 5 player prediction?
G'day Jaggers,

Done no research but happy to give a cheeky little top 5 (No particular order):

Harvey Barrie (Villa) - Coming off a strong season in the 10Bs but has been working very hard and earned some minutes in the 10As, however there are a few question marks over his position.
Hamish Whalley (Laurie's) - Absolute gun player, a true athlete, and a great playmaker. Played 10As this year but is eager to play 10, 12, or even 13 in the SLC Firsts.
Will Butler (?) - Don't know which team he will be lining up for next year as he made some mid-season transfers this season, however he is young and is showing great potential, could also receive a Firsts berth this year.
Cael "Faf" Anderson (Laurie's) - Weapon for SLC, plays for the crest, and is certainly looking to show some lekker next year after a good season and a great season in league.
Finally, last but definitely not least, Samuel "Junior Spark" Madden (Laurie's) - Certainly has family ties in this competition. Son of Dan, nephew of Michael, and of course younger brother of Josh "Spark Plug" Madden. Living up to his electric genes, Sam is an exciting and energetic young halfback and will create competition for the SLC Firsts halfback spot.

Only posted about some bolters for next year. Don't really want to fill it with irrelevant people who are already in the team.

Noticed that these are all souths boys. Don't know what they're feeding these boys out in 'Tarra' (Tarragindi) these days. Wouldn't be surprised if they're hunting in the wild for their food with the amount of jungle they've got out that way.

My Picks this year:

1. Marist - strong 11s, and 10s in 2025 it will come down to can the coach get out of the way and let the boys play real rugby.
2. Villa - They troubled the table toppers last year with a young team and most are back they will have the most 1st experienced team going round.
3. Lauries - Took out the 2nds in 2025 and should transition well into 1sts . Only problem is everyone knows exactly what to expect when they play them and how to stop them.
4. Padua - Not the strongest older cohort but a good 10a team coming in. After the last few years its hard to argue with them having the best coaching team in the comp but can they get the team up for a 3-peat.
5. Iona - If they can get over there League tendencies and play union could surprise to the up side otherwise they will finish lower
6. Pats - Will have the Front row to challenge at set piece, but will be a young team maybe 2027 will be there year.
7. Eddies - Will only beat Peters and 1 upset some where along the line which might decide another teams championship chances.
8. Peters - Could jag a game if it's wet and their swim team plays instead of the Rugby team.

I'm going to say no one will go through undefeated this year and really any of my top 4 could win it.

G'day JJ,

Sorry what a coincidence if you're right. I don't even have any association with any clubs in the Brisbane area. (If anyone is looking for a coach send me a private message) I guess the AIC is just dominated by players from the Magpies, not sure why though. Perhaps great coaching?

If you don't mind me asking JJ how do you know that all of these players play club footy at Souths because I'm not willing to take info from a person who is notoriously known for spreading fake information on GAG and this is shown by your reaction score of -1. I believe that number was also lower, getting into the negative 30s at one stage.

Also, Tarragindi is, "one of Brisbane's safest and most liveable inner suburbs." (Zest Mortgage Solutions) So if you are assuming that people in that suburb hunt in the jungle for their food then you would probably be wrong, which also adds to the difficulty of believing you JJ. However not everyone has the privilege of living in a really rich suburb such as Coorparoo which is known for its very nice mansions.

ATA, pls mistake me if that's the wrong Tarra but that looks like a fair bit of jungle to me. I'm sure you don't live in that hole but my condolences to any aspiring footy players in the area. Rumour is they practice their chop tackles on the kangas hopping around in the area.

JJ let's just keep it to footy chat alright. I will let the staff deal with this schoolboy dribble. No footy chat at all.

Well said ATA. Let's get back to footy talk. I'd be keen to hear some ladder predictions for next year. I'll start us off:

1. Marist
2. Villa
3. Padua
4. Lauries
5. Iona

And who cares about the bottom 3:
6. Pats
7. Eddies
8. Peters

I'm sorry JJ who the f*ck do you think you are? (Pardon my French) In society you can't put some down by criticising their feelings. Looks like you only care about raising your reaction score (or making sure it doesn't get to -30 again).

Anyway here are my predictions that don't forget about a Iona and put Laurie's twice like JJ did @Jackal Julie:

1. Marist
2. Padua
3. Laurie's
4. Iona
5. Villa
6. Pats
7. Eddies
8. Peters

Anyone know if Runcorn will be ready to go next year? Looks like it's in the midst of some pretty heavy reno's (good to see as that place was turning into a shi*hole). Those fields had less atmosphere than a dentist waiting room.

JJ
Probably depends on how many times it floods this summer...
