How much are we set to make from the world cup? We have a guaranteed figure from WR (World Rugby) don't we? 100mil I believe. Good to have that as a guarantee figure but might be unders based off this tour success. Ah well. At least we don’t have to run off debt and should easily last until next BIL tour (fingers crossed).

The article about the removal of Gits law is behind a paywall so I can't read it but my initials thoughts are that is great, obviously will be interesting to see how it leaves SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) over the next few years.
A few random shower thoughts
- Do we think guys like Tizzano, Wright, McReight etc. were told this would be happening? Some of those guys left big money on the table to choose the Wallabies over playing overseas.
- Didn't NZRU only recently reference an agreement RA had with them to not open the flood gates and help preserve SRP (Super Rugby Pacific)? I wonder if this is a surprise to them or if we will get a similar announcement soon.
- Will be interesting to see how much impact this has on the frenchies poaching our high school talent, knowing we might still come back and offer them a gold jersey

On the death of the Giteau rule, will we now see a general reduction in the amounts overfseas clubs will be willing to offer to Wallaby eligible players?

I suggested this may happen back when we brought the rule in and guys like Kerevi were signing with Japanese clubs. He's remained over in Japan ever since and presumably still being paid a decent chunk of cash.
Will be interesting if the full open slather selections moves the needle.

In Japan probably, for France they will snap up players in academies to get them JIFF qualified is my guess.

Australian Rugby Foundation Future Fund, the trust you can invest in is now up to $20million, with aims to grow it to $100million. $50k minimum investment.
1% of gross assets will be invested back into rugby each year.

25 investors for $20 million is fewer people than I would have thought, but a significantly higher average investment. This has huge potential, way above $100 million. Would be great if they could lower the minimum investment or get it as an option into some of the super funds. Even without that surely there'd be hundreds if not thousands of dyed in the wool rugby people with large investment portfolios and self-managed super funds who might consider putting a few % into this. It's a totally reasonable and diversified investment option that will get a decent return while also supporting the sport.
