Looks like the U18s could be in for a torrid time of it - some real talent in the above

I think you will find that the Gen Blue U19's will be playing a possible / probable game in June sometime. This squad is expected to be added to for this fixture (schoolboys/injured out and fresh performers in).

I'd expect the stand-outs to be selected out of the squad and the rest to trial against the NSWJRU U18's.

What is the point of the Gen Blue game? Is it so the NSW U18 team can push for selection for combined states?

I don't think it's a very fair match up.

Schoolboys program will be over by then so has nothing to do with Combined States.

More like pushing for 2018 Gen Blue U19 & U20's selections.

Thanks for posting that Ratchet.

It appears there has been some significant changes to the selection process since the trials last year.

It will be interesting to see what occurs as a result of this new structure.
How is the structure or selection process different ?

Does anyone know if the national championships games are streamed so you can see the action if you don't live in Sydney?

I had a look at who played Australian Schoolboys and Australian Barbarians in 2016 and remain eligible for Australian Schoolboys selection in 2017. It made for interesting reading.

Assuming their incumbency as a good start then a draft Australian schoolboys team could look something like this.

#1 Bo Abra Aust Barbarians St Stanislaus NSW
#2 Lachlan Lonergan Aust SB Trinity Christian ACT
#3
#4 Harry Wilson Aust SB/ Aust Barbarians St Josephs Gregory Terr QLD
and
Lachlan Osborne Aust Barbarians Canberra Grammar ACT
#5 Nick Frost Aust Barbarians Knox NSW
#6 Charles Rorke Aust Barbarians Riverview NSW
#7
#8
#9 Joshua Vuta Aust SB/ Aust Barbarians Somerset College QLD
#10
#11
#12 Will Harrison (inj?) Aust Barbarians Marcellin College Randwick NSW
#13 Tristan Stanghon Aust Barbarians Anglican Church Grammar QLD
#14 Jordan Peteia Aust Barbarians Brisbane State High QLD
#15

I was quite surprised how many are returning. Will be tough to knock them off I would imagine.

Returning from Combined States 2016

Luke Edwards (Prop) Shore NSW
John Yates (Lock) St Josephs College NSW
Dylan Dowling (Half Back) St Josephs College NSW

Returning from NSW II

Darcy Breen (Prop) Scots NSW

Does anyone have any details on players returning from NSW I, QLD I and II, Combined States, ACT or any other State?
