Ballymore Redevelopment

City vs some awful nsw team in the inaugural NRC season was quite large as was a Saders preseason game with Dan Carter on NZ national day and I don’t recall it being too bad getting out. I parked a few blocks away for both.

I lived in Brisbane from 1976 to 82 and spent most winter Sundays at Ballymore; that was a time when the QRU made a concerted effort to engage NZ provinces in a determined push to improve. The bridge was at the northern end of the public area behind the western stand, somewhat in line with the end of Munna Street. Old Jeeps hands were its most frequent users along with others who worked out parking on the northern side of Enoggera Creek was a doddle.

Long since gone now unfortunately, it's about a 2km walk from train station to stadium, and not the footpaths along the route could certainly be better. There is a plan for a new bridge close to the stadium though:
More community green space
The new Ballymore will provide more accessible green spaces for the community, with enhanced park areas and pedestrian access. The masterplan allows the construction by Brisbane City Council of a boardwalk bike path along the southern bank of Enoggera Creek, creating a 4-5km running loop around Ballymore and the Newmarket Sports Precinct across the creek. Council is also planning the construction of a footbridge at the end of Clyde Rd on the western edge of Ballymore, which will link the precinct with Newmarket. The QRU is also working with Council to create new community-accessible fitness stations and barbeques within Ballymore.

Linking it to the community outcomes is smart, it's probably the only way it'll ever get up.

I would imagine if the Roar cease to exist that the need for a 20k stadium becomes a bit less pressing for the Government.

Kind of what i was inferring previous page… Bakkries struggles to pay their bills on time let alone contribute substantial funds to a $250million stadium.
