i have continually been surprised at McReight's ratings.
i have replayed matches and just watched McReight and never get as high a rating relative to the other players as rugby websites do.
i was being graded for cronulla-sutherland way back in early 70's and my father who played for both Parramatta and St.George in the early 50's advised me of an old trick of wearing some clothing that would be easily noticed by observers. i was a hooker so white socks was suggested.
so i have noticed over decades of watching rugby that the white headgear stands out more so than say red or being bareheaded.
it's a hypothesis. i don't doubt his enthusiasm or skills
note: ruptured my acl and never got to trial but the sporting public did not miss anything by my absence

I note that we have already considered bareheaded, but have we considered the impact of being an egghead? Or, to use the local colloquialism, being a bald cnt? Further research is definitely needed into the impact of lid choices on the fast evolving field of sequential highly iterative temperamental personal opinion styled team analytics (SHITPOSTA), as pioneered by Pitcairn U boffin, Professor Gunston.

We also need to gauge the impact of red hair, as this has potential implications for the Ranga XV selection committee.

WTF is this thread
it is about player ratings
if i had known so many would reply with childish remarks i would never have posted
i, like many, have been told i have a year left if all goes well so will withdraw from g&gr as don't need the angst
there are only 3 possibilities re; my hypothesis, 1/ it is unfounded 2/ the knockers do not see it as they are whiteheadgearocentric or 3/ the knockers do not understand it
i, obviously, believe a combination most likely of 2/ & 3/
but hey just think about when you watch a game in the future
all the best to all, even red runner, mark

am having problems working out how to leave g&gr. not as easy as i thought it would be. only thing i found was go to contact which wasn't easy and there's nothing there, that i can see, to help me
so admin woould you please assist me or just remove me, thanks

So what you are saying is that Fraser gets noticed because of his headgear which makes him stand out more than his performances warrant? I don't think about the ratings but I think he is a good, consistent performer. Do you think there is someone else that should be in his place?

I never played at a level where I trialed for anything important, but I am sure if I did, my dad would have suggested that successfully pilfering the ball at multiple important stages of every match I play will get me noticed and lead to higher player ratings.

To be the devil's advocate, wouldn't white head gear get you noticed more when you make a mistake? Maybe his genuine rating should be higher?

On a different note, it has always pissed me off that the team don't get team coloured head gear provided.
