I would wait a few seasons to see how the Sydney sides fare but with the worst side the Stars this year they should be a bit more competitive as long as they don't get injuries to key players like they did last season.

They theoretically get back Tilse, Ryan, McCutcheon, Latu, Betham.

Skelton, Phipps, Foley, Folau won't play any games I wouldn't think.

Add in Jim Stewart, Henry Clunies - Ross, Tom Kingston & Tom Carter and they have a serious backline.

9. Gordon
10. Dunbar
11. Betham
12. Carter
13. Stewart
14. Betham
15. Kingston

The pack will be the problem Latu may miss a few games. Tilse and Ryan will be competent as well as Winton (1 Waratah cap) & McCutcheon but some of the others haven't really even nailed down first grade spots in the Uni club yet.

For the Rays another weak side from last season have a look at the Rays thread this side chose a sustainable culture build by selecting it's own players from it's four clubs if it is allowed to retain these players season to season I would be inclined to think they will become very strong as the Northern area of Sydney produces a lot of players.

The Rams have access to 5 clubs which are some of Sydney's strongest club sides at this moment so should be able to produce a good side.

NSW Country will have to look at the balance sheet and costs as they seem to have spent a lot more last season than other franchises trying to be competitive but if they keep going the way they are going they will be competitive.

Why isn't that the best interest of the comp? To have reasonably even sides??

Are you saying NSW shouldn't have 4 teams? There's already not enough teams and you want less? Just because the Rising are in Melbourne doesn't mean the whole Rebels team should play there. Spread it around, too many games weren't competitive.

Who says there aren't enough teams?
If NSW doesn't have the player depth to field 4 competitive teams then it shouldn't have that many.

It's not on the best interest of the comp to enforce a minimum quota which would see a large number of players shuffling between states, it would be ridiculously expensive as well, housing and accommodating players for 10-12 weeks.

so based on 2014 squad:

Losses:
-Phil Kite(Vikings)
-Will Genia(O/S)
-James Hanson(Rising)
-James Horwill(O/S)
-Curtis Browning(injured)

Unknown:
-Ben Tapuai

Possible Reds inclusions
-JOC (James O'Connor)
-Karmichael Hunt

1. Paraka
2. Ready
3. Talakai
4. Kotze
5. McDuling
6. Korczyk
7. Gunn
8. Shatz
9. Frisby
10. McIntyre
11. Turner
12. Kerevi
13. ?
14. Kuridrani
15. ?

Who are the form outside backs in the QPR? Laloifi, Parker and Feaunati all filled in the role in 2015. Are Toby White and Rex Tapuai still the frontrunners for the outside centre position?

Let's be honest. The team named above have 7 (Paraka, Ready, Talakai, Kotze, Korzyck, Gunn, McIntyre) debutants and 2 players (Kerevi, Kuridrani) with under 5 caps after the 2014 season. This team has come a long way in 12 months and it would be very unfair to now take players from the squad because they have excelled.

Tapuai will be included into the side and potentially O'Connor with Hunt to join QLD Country alongside A.Fainga'a in the mid field.

Precisely, many of these players earned their Super Rugby contracts and debuts on the back of the their 2014 NRC form, and now qwerty is suggesting that because NSW teams performed so badly that some of these BC players should be sent south to bolster those squads..

Can QRU put the current 2016 preparations (finalising the roster, reorganising the HPU and appointing a Head Coach after a world wide search) aside and manage to name the squads for NRC 2015.

With Premier Rugby winding up soon and Reds 2015 finished a while ago, the preparation of the two Qld NRC squads may get a jump on their NSW and ACT opponents.

How is the Roster looking?

Usually if you buy in bulk (season pass) you're suppose to get a discount not pay the same or even more!

Yes a season pass is the same as the 4 discounted online tickets, they haven't increased in price... it's the merchandise inclusion which is the bonus.

Brisbane City should see the inclusion of new Reds recruit Caydern Neville who will fill the void of leaving players from last season including Kotze, Buchanan and McDuling. They will also be without Browning, Schatz, Gunn and Wilkin who have all undone surgery.
The backline should also see the inclusion of Karmichael Hunt who was aligned to Brisbane City last season.

Backrow depth will be tested without Shatz, Browning, Wilkin, Gunn.

Adam Korzyck
Liam Gill (?)
Ed Quirk

Not much outside of that. Chazz Mahina from Sunnybank was involved last year, but I haven't heard much on him this season. Names like James Moore (Easts), Luke Beauchamp (Brothers), Connor Mitchell (University) and Criff Tupou (Brothers) will probably be considered based om their Premier form.

Gill will have majority of the competition off to fix niggling injuries. Korzyck is managing a knee injury (MCL injury) still a little while away and Ed Quirk is aligned to Country.
Those back row options are solid however regarding the next step into S18 IMO none but Tupou would cope with the physicality (something the Reds already struggle with).

If the NRC is designed to nurture the third tier of rugby and the next generation of 2nd tier players, why oh why give spots to excellent players who are O/S bound? Sure they are high quality and younger players might well learn from them and they lift the standard of play, but sign other marquee players who will be a part of things and thereby develop that understanding of and trust in each other's style and skill set.

None of the marquee players will be playing. They will all be tied up with the Wallabies. It's just a way to use their names/faces for promotion.
EDIT: I shouldn't say 'none'. Very few will play NRC.
