Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I previously found that if I connected one device to another via hotspot Stan couldn't pick up that you were in a different geoblock. Otherwise, yeah, VPN.

Logic here is baffling....Shit ratings for the game is exactly why rugby needs to stick with FTA, but it also needs better marketing of the game.
Were people saying this when Reds v Waratahs drew 100k? Of course rugby needs FTA, because it's a niche fucken sport with a dwindling supporter base and using the a team with the smallest/lowest fan base in Australia to have a crack at it doesn't prove anything, Hiding the game behind a paywall with little to no marketing will only continue the death spiral that it's been in the past 20 years...

If Super Rugby FTA isn't drawing much interest, and it's not providing any competition to SVOD Stan services, then Stan wouldn't be paying much of a premium to remove it from FTA...

Social Blade (?) has the Super Rugby Pacific YouTube channel with 769k views last week, and 3.07m views over the last 28 days.

No idea how legit any of that is, but feels like this is where the game should be looking.

Yeah Youtube is kind of a scam for 'content creators'. Enshittification hit it big time.

The Youtube algorithm is failing too. Or perhaps Youtube think it is increasingly marvelous? My feed used to be very satisfying, these days it is out of control with conspiracy, bot manufactured content (some of which, only some, is actually OK) and shit that is being pushed that has nothing to do with my interests. Mostly political and/or mindless conjecture.

There is not a lot of alternative without diving deeper into unmoderated extremes.

Seems to be the way now. Either you put the effort into finding the content you want yourself or you just consume the slop served up. I suppose its always been that way, really. Just less options for individual choice in the past.

I always wonder when I am reading the conversations around Stan and SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) if people realise that the the content is accessible at anytime making it super convenient so will fit anyone schedule. But yet still people have little interest in accessing it which is telling.

It appears Eddie has been back in the podcast studio, not sure if I can bear to listen to it though:
