Brumbies v Waratahs Rd 12 Sat 3rd May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

It was the unforced errors for me. Walton alone must have dropped it cold 3 times when on attack.

Our back 5 forwards love a carry but they don't put much of a shift in on defence.

Another second half capitulation from the Tahs.

Anyone know what their 1st half / 2nd half points differential is?

Every game they are in the contest at half time, and every loss it just disappears after the break

Only 40%?

And yep, a byproduct of the historic poor continuity, planning and player development at the Waratahs as a organisation. You see the benefits of better roster management at the Reds (in recent years) and the Brumbies in contrast to Waratahs and the Force who are very much dealing with high changeover. Worrying thing for the Tahs is it wouldn't surprise me if they have another large round of turnover at the end of this year.
I actually think the Brums lack of turnover and recruitment will hurt them in a next couple of years if they don’t make some big moves. I’m not seeing the young stars in that system compared to others but it’s been such a sound organisation they get the benefit of the doubt.

Winning the 19s isn’t a response either since NSW has dominated the 18s for years and it not flow through enough. Like 20s meaning nothing in League.

Tahs turnover is fine if the coaching gets a good tenure and enough good players are retained and youth brought in and coached up. The side had 2 wins last year and if they finish the year with 6 I’ll take it.

Foketi’s apparent knock on was a catalyst for what was a 14 point turn around. Then when Gardner let the deliberate knock on go that allowed a try… his officiating allowed 21 points ignoring the clear and obvious offside at every infield kick. I’m actually more disappointed in Gardner than the loss

Tom wright. Yeh nah. Don't think he is the wallabies 15 this year.

In fairness to the Shig, if Schmidt had decided to use last nights game as the sole criteria to pick his #15 then JAS would get the gig hands down. They will both be in the team though.

I’m not so sure about that…

JAS was devastating with ball in hand, but Wright had an outstanding all round game.

I think we can be quite confident that both will be in the team, and I think we agree that Wright has been below his usual standards so far this season

But the comp is just getting hard and this when the quality players lift

Sua'ali'i had probably the best 20 minutes by any Australian Super Rugby player this year. The vast majority of which he could have contributed as a midfield player. For the other 60 minutes his impact was negligible. Wright, on the other hand, had his fingerprints all over the game for the Brumbies in a more complete 80-minute performance. Wright's kicking was exceptional, JAS does not look comfortable yet in this part of the game. Wright's ability as a first/second receiver has gone to another level this year, and with our 10s still developing nationally, this will be a need for the Wallabies. Both need to be in the national setup, and with their current strengths, it has to be Wright at 15 and Sua'ali'i at 13 or possibly 12.

Most definitely… those two and Ikitau locked in starters.

The question will be does JAS play centre or wing depending on the makeup of the backline.

Wright did all his damage in broken play. JAS showed he can be damaging in broken play and in the midfield. At times he looked like a man against boys. He’ll be giving the lions plenty to think about.

Wright and JAS on the field at the same time is definitely a thing that needs to happen. They're both so damaging in attack and will have the the ability to unlock defences with the angles they run and passing in contact. I would think it will be Wright at 15 and JAS at 13. I'd love to see McKellar give Joseph a run in the centres before the tests though.
