CAS 2019

WLF

Arch Winning (36)
Waverley very strong in 2nds and 3rds

If cranbrook wins either of those . I’ll do a nude run across QP 1

Bit of history. trying to emulate joker the archivist
Recent results of cas comp games. waves v brook

2014. cranners win 24-12
2015. waves win 48-28
2016. waves win 50-10
2017. waves win 64-5
2018. waves win 21-12

With so many leaguies in Waverley team, I worry that a loss could come at the expense of some lack of knowledge re rules

Eg a deliberate pass of the ball over the touch line or deadball line

I honestly think that there are a few kids in Waverley 16As that really should be in the 1sts

(Has Waverley ever had more 16As players make NSW schoolboy team?)

Whether the coaches would make such a change (elevate 16As players) late in the year, I doubt.

Really feel there are a few big name Waverley players that need to have good games. as there have been some average performances. despite unquestioned ability.

Otherwise I’d punt them to 2nds. in the interests of being a meritocracy. It’s the joeys philosophy, no one is above being relegated.

SDW, I just typed a response to you on private convo but wasn't allowed to post to you, not sure why.
Let me know if you would like to talk behind the scenes about Waves stuff!

Wow .... a few changes to Waverley team!

And I don’t mind them

It’s going to be a great game

Tipping Waverley and still think 16As will do it in a canter

Ps yes my archival work was a bit average... not sure when 2 rounds started / finished

And think one year there was a trial as well as comp game

Joker u don’t want to go to birrell street?

I suspect a couple of the schoolboy rounds this weekend may be a bit more exciting than the Wallabies match a few of us are travelling up to see. Keep up the posts during match time gents.

What are the main changes SDW? Have they included some 16A kids?

Yep looks like a few 16As players have been elevated ... not sure if one of them is your boy WLF?

Either way I reckon they (the young guns) will go great ... as a couple of big names (one of whom I reckon has been pretty average ... in patches) have been displaced.

Having said that Clem Halaholo remains in 16As ... and not sure how he didn't also make NSW 15s ... he did make the Sydney side ... but I rate him very highly. Against Joeys he was a menace.... and glad the injury he copped in that game , was shrugged off.

Mmm...well I wonder what will happen when Waves face Knox and Barker, which each have strong 16A's......will the Waves Boys continue to play up in the 1's or will they play in the 16's? What's the theory?

WTF?

That particular game when a Waves player threw the ball over the line, I believe was in 2013 or 14 against Barker. Waves were leading but from the ensuring penalty Barker scored to win the match and the Premiership.

I was at the game, it was played at Barker. Waves in front and had a scrum on Barkers 22. All they had to do was kick it out to win, but the Waves halfback took the ball off the back of the scrum and passed it to no-one and over the sideline. Penalty to Barker, with 80 meters to go. Quick tap by the fly half and a pass to Harry Jones who ran past & around about 5 Waves players to score under the posts and then convert his own try. It was an epic finish and gave Barker the HP Shield that year. I remember walking around the oval to my car seeing the Waverley team sitting in the middle of the oval on the cricket pitch with most of them in tears.

I guess it was an indication of making a poor decision under pressure and when tired, and not remembering the rules of the game they were playing (as opposed to league where you can do that legally). Most unfortunate for the poor half back - although 4 or 5 missed tackles on Harry Jones didn't help.

Aloys will be near full strength tomorrow so looking to be a fairly strong display coming at home. Good luck to all boys. Aloys by 13

Cranbrook you can thank us for the win later, we managed to get at least 2 of Waverlys starting team banned for this week. They are missing 7 or 8 from their team now I hear. Go So should be a fairly easy win for Brook by 20+

Trinity to cause a huge upset with Vuki and Buchanan winning with some superb individual brilliance.

Aloys win... geez u r de king of baiting

I was kind of happy that ur boys got a big scalp

It has been since 1978 that ur trophy cabinet was opened

... however now thanks to ur baiting.. I hope they get pumped

If for no other reason than to keep the comp interesting

Re 16As plan ... if the elevated players have blinders, they might just have to remain in the double v

If not they will be better for the experience ... I guess time will tell

Come on mate. If there was a way to turn everyone off from a school this is it.

Hahah how immature is this guy. Tips Aloys because he thinks this Aloys rugby team is God-sent, tips Cranbrook because he has a serious spite for Waverley and anything that even sounds similar, and tips Trinity because they're the team that have beaten Aloys this season.

Credit to Aloys for turning up against Waverley, but they were not a great side in the Trinity game and I can't see them causing Barker much trouble. I like being proven wrong though, makes this competition so interesting. Good luck to all today.

Any 16A’s games to report on? I know the waves Cranbrook game has concluded but unsure of the result. Would assume it was fairly ugly in favour of Waverley?
