CAS 2019

WLF

Arch Winning (36)
You sound like Cheika mate. The video will also show our defense was almost impenetrable and your two tries were from long range turnovers. The ref made some curious calls both ways, but we won the breakdown without question and then your outside backs seemed to not be able to number up when we were in attack.

I was disappointed not to see young WLF with much ball, it seemed it got caught up in the halves most of the time which Lindfield capitalised on with rush defence.

Ha, Yep no question Lindfield won the breakdown and defended well, and deserved to win!
Glad its all over now, too much footy in this age group imo, that's why half of both teams were on the side line.

So in the end we lost the GF by 4 points, won more club games than anyone else, and won every school game including all the major GPS schools, including the GPS 16a champions.

My forecast was wrong by 1 game but I think you will have to agree, it was quite a reasonable season.

There will be no club next year, so it will all boil down to school v school, can't wait!

Yes definitely congratulations to Randwick / Waverley / Randwick. I look forward to the next couple of years of CAS footy.

You did lose one game but unfortunately it was the one that mattered the most. Apart from of course the other game you lost, over the June long weekend...

Its a shame Lindfield and Gordon won't compete in this age group again. Maybe Randwick might have been able to come out victors overall somewhere down the track.

I gather the 16As were refereed by James Scholtens ... and in my estimation he is one of the better schoolboy referees

but I guess anyone can have a bad day... either way good result to Lindfield.

on the subject of bad days ... a mate of mine's son was out at ES Marks competing in athletics ... and he is a gun sprinter and not one to normally cast aspersions, but he reckons the Waverley kids ... or at least some were acting like complete nobs

he said they were acting like they won the 2019 rugby ... oh well, I hope in 2020, Waverley doesn't bring the wrong attitude

No no, it would have been nice to win absolutely everything including the club and rep final games, but our no.1 priority was always our school games, when it's just 1 school v 1 school (not the best of many schools in the 1 team), and that is what people remember most, I am sure you would agree.

Next year it will be exactly that, and we can share more banter then.

Rest assured SDW, that won't happen.

Great game linfeild vs randwick toughed it out till the end both teams, linfeild showed more dominance. Some questionable decisions both way but a few knobs in the linfeild team from what i've heard certainly not my words so don't quote me on this.

can definitely hear you out hear BeaverMenzies, although I was at the colts down at Coogee, word has definitely gone around that the ref was questionable and those boys in the Linfield team were being tossers (per usual). At the end of the day you can't change the result so it its what it is.

Cannot wait for the years to come and the absolute spectacular footy which will be played.

Thanks for the inside info boys, you lost fair and square on the field. Not sure you will have another chance again in club rugby to win against this team.

I think you will find only one punch was thrown, and it wasn't by Lindfield. After the red and yellow cards at the State Champs for unsportsmanlike conduct, perhaps you are the ones getting a bit of a reputation....

WTF, That is not what happened, but let's leave it, it's done.

P.S. These are boys looking for a gee up, ignore them, and you,me, Axe etc can resume our bunkers next year, HA!

WLF & WTF sorry lads wasn’t trying to stir the pot just keen to see what the next season has in store for these young blokes, lots of potential coming through in the next few years.

Anyway, I see Waverley has one more game this season. Are they putting out their 2019 side or the 2020 side?

Snort, they'll be putting their 2019 side out with a few young guns on the bench. formerflanker they are versing Saint Augustines who they beat early on in the season this year.

Thanks.
What a great initiative and a wonderful occasion for the players.

It certainly is FF (Folau Fainga'a), and maybe this schoolboy pre-game strategy should become an on-going thing sharing between all the schools.
I had heard that originally the idea was to have the winner of the GPS play the winner of the CAS, which imo, would be a dead set cracker of an idea, and would pull a crowd.

I also heard that both Barker and Knox were offered the game but declined, not sure about any GPS school offers.

In all honesty, a bit ridiculous that Waverly have been selected to go to this event. They don’t deserve the opportunity, why not give it to some
Other more deserving schools? St Aloysius boys would have been far more deserving.

I have watched video of this game , very tough battle displayed here.......but again very questionable officiating.
Both teams probably got their fair share of penalties, but there were a number of uncalled events that would of changed the outcome.
For instance Linfield first try should not have been awarded , as there was a clear knock on by the centre who passes the ball from the breakdown ( if you have the footage it’s at the 4 min mark ) this would have Randwick winning ?
Also ill discipline could have come into play , the same centre tackles the wicks 9 high which leads to him being escorted from the field for HIA. The centre is then seen celebrating the incident or was he celebrating the fact that he did not receive a card ( which could also change the end result )
End of the day Lindfield have bragging rights in the U16 A division club comp and it is what it is. I am looking forward to the 2020 schools opens season especially the trial period CAS v GPS where most of these boys will hopefully meet up again for some mouth watering action.

Plus just to touch on your unsportsmanlike remark.... My brother was at State Champs June long weekend for the Randwick v Gordon match. He was amongst Gordon parents and supporters and was witness to some pretty poor behaviour from this group. I won’t repeat what he heard but let’s say there is no place for it in our game. What hope do our young players have if this is how their parents behave . I would suggest that Gordon / Linfield are probably the ones with a unsportsmanlike reputation.
