24/05/08 Apple Review

Out here today at Knox v Cranbrook on Cranbrook’s Hordern Oval.

The Apple today was a little bit sour but had a nice crunch and juice explosion. Not usually a fan of green apples, would usually go for a red one but not too bad on the whole. 7.8/10

0-33 Knox way at half time. Let’s see if anything changes this next half.

Full Scrum Ahead!
I like it, might need to try one myself

Has Waverley declared yet?
Yes Snort,

You and I have banged on about this ad nauseum but the game just got called off with about 15-20 minutes to go.
Waves 90-0, AND that includes having nearly all the 2nds swapping out the 1sts, the bench was huge as the 2nds game wasn't played.

I know for a fact that the Waves coaches do not ever like rubbing other people's noses in it, thus the swap outs, but they just kept on scoring.
I also think the Waves probably wanted to get some confidence back after last weeks loss to Trinity.

Not sure what the CAS board should does about this, aside from scorelines being demoralizing for boys/parents at any school, the real risk here is injury. You would just hate to see this have to happen to make a system suddenly have to react.

I agree with your sentiments WLF. Big scores help no one and player safety is the concern

That score probably (for now) spells the end of Aloys' involvement in the 1st XV comp.

I have no insight into the thought processes of the CAS govenors and ultimately the headmasters who decide the fate of all CAS sport, but I think this years CAS/ISA maybe the precursor to something more permanent. I do not think it was the intention, but Aloys consistent weakness and the saftey of their players is paramount and may be the catalyst for this CAS/ISA comp to be more permanent. If it becomes long term, their could be a promotion relegation system, integrated which may help to keep the Plume Shield in play in the years that Aloys are stronger.

Knox back row and backs were absolutely clinical today; one of those days where things just clicked every time cranbrook turned over the ball, of which they had plenty but were very clunky. Trinity Knox will be interesting
