random question, they did this in the Gps forum a while back where they ranked all of the home grounds so im keen to hear everyone's thoughts, here is mine

1. Knox Main Oval - basically a stadium, has the best spectator view with the seating and rows with the castle in the background and the trainline running behind it, hard to pass
2. Hordern Oval (Cranbrook) - little can beat a harbour view with so many different spots to watch the game, you have the grandstand where the boys and some parents watch, the concrete wrapping the field, and then a birds eye view from up on the nice fancy building, let alone the great drainage, grass needs some work
3. Barker Main Oval - nice modern grandstand with concrete wrapping the stadium, although minimal seats to watch the game from, can feel quite like an empty bowl when not many there due to the high walls around the ground, good grass
4. Trinity Main (before reonvation) - had good seating at one end of the ground with a nice scoreboard at the other end, can't wait to see what this turns into when the renovation is finished
5. College Oval (Aloys) - probably the best grass in the CAS, the oval looks the nicest and feels the nicest to play on, however there is only one small grandstand with only metal bleachers for the boys to watch, feels a little like a random rectangle in the middle of nowwhere, big ups for the manual scoreboard
6. Queens Park (Wav) - what can I say, a public oval with a terrible grandstand, the grass is poor and can be shut at any moment by the council, however for a big game it can bring that 'death valley feel'

please let me know your own lists

Think you’ve nailed it. Knox is the best schoolboy ground in NSW

From the CAS website

CAS Standings after week 2

Rugby Rankings Total Points
Waverley College 31.5
Barker College 24
Knox Grammar School 21
Cranbrook School 18
Trinity Grammar School 9
St Aloysius’ College 4.5

So looks like a draw recorded for one of the cancelled Waverley - Aloys games (2nds?)

Knox does have the premier ground.

The view alone the highlight. Cranbrooks new ground a bit disappointing for the millions spent doing it up. No where to really stand and the rugby view is poor. Plus they must have a drainage problem?

At least the scoreboard is nice and clear too.

Can really see the difference between the two schools and love the add on of the logos.

Gents, I know we are discussing the 'scoreboard' but do we have to keep rubbing the loss in the poor Brook fans faces. + agree a nice grandstand would do Hordern oval nice.

Glad you guys could enjoy the fruits (apples) of your hardwork. I'm sure your chaplain is very pleased with you boys and will reward you in many different ways.

Only a Cranbrook kid would dredge up someone else’s trauma - especially something as horrific as childhood sexual assault - just to score points or be cruel. That’s not just disgusting, it’s a perfect snapshot of the entitlement and moral bankruptcy that still festers in Cranbrook’s culture. When your instinct is to weaponise someone else’s pain instead of show basic human decency, it’s clear nothing at that school has changed - it’s still grooming boys to become arrogant men with no empathy and no accountability.

This just reinforces what so many already know: the culture at Cranbrook is still rotten.
Prestige means nothing when decency is optional.

Such a shame.

You’d think after the year they’ve had - the scandals, the scrutiny, the so-called soul-searching - there’d be some reflection, maybe even a hint of change. But no. They’re still showing the same vile attitude with the same smug arrogance. Sure, you could quietly report it to the media and hope for some accountability, but that just drives them back into the shadows. At least here, in the open, we get to see the truth: this is who they are, and this is what Cranbrook still produces.

Boys,
It was tough game for our Aloys Boys, But one thing we dont do is give up. As phil said, youll all be suprised when they get an upset this year, which will be Barker. Waves were great and will take out the comp. Bob Knows Best!!

Waves aren't taking out the comp, they are fighting for 3rd place.
