Neither did barker it could have been 70-7. Seeing as knox only beat cranbrook (who were the worst team last year) 36-0 and barker demolished trinity who were a strong team it shows knox aren't as good as they think. The match will be heavily contested and Knox won't roll over barker as they are a stronger team than before

have to agree with you bro - Knox will have a decent fight on its hands to take the win. I do think though that the backs led by their 10 will just sneak away with the win. The forwards from Knox still have a bit to prove and need to make a stand

I will get things kicked of with a CAS 16's.

1. Frear (K)
2. ?
3. Bullen (B)
4. Brown (B)
5. Morreti (W)
6. Reimer (B)
7. Rahme (A)
8. Murphey (W)
9. Tjeck (B)
10. Ilias (T)/Westbury (A)
11. Hollingworth-Dessent (T)
12. Towns (W)
13. Cameron (K)
14. Basheer (B)
15. Kitchener (B)

Pretty handy team. Might be being a little bias to Barker, although they haven't been great the last 3 years i believe if they have a full strength 16's side they would beat any other team by a reasonable amount. Another one to consider would be Trinitys halfback Cooper Chambers but with Tjeck there not so sure where we would fit him into the starting team? Anyone know a solid hooker? Only position i am having a bit of trouble here with

Heard stals (B) has been playing some strong footy, winning 5 tight head against oakhill, he isnt the largest but he seems to have good technique, so could be a possibility as the hooker.

Trinity's 16s are a lot weaker than last year though. They have lost two to 1sts and two to specialist athletics, plus one more played 16s last year and could repeat - but is playing 1sts.

I think Trinity will struggle against Cranbrook this year - the Cranbrook boys, who have never won a comp game, will be seriously up for that challenge. They will be boosted by the knowledge that the (ex-Cranbrook) Trinity boy who burned them for speed with 4 tries in 30 mins last year before he was subbed off (scoreline too big) will not be there, as he's dropped rugby. Shame for the CAS 16s team - with Hollingworth-Dessent there, CAS could have dominated for speed on the wings. GPS 16s don't have that sort of speed that I'm aware of.

Speed is not everything mate. GPS will have a very strong backline

This will be close to the GPS backline

9. Joe Dalton (J)
10. Angus Bell (I)
11. Raine Dellow (N)
12. Dominic Easy (I)
13. Nathaniel Endemenn (N)
14. Lachlan Apps (K)
15. Vincent Creagh (J)

Very very strong. CAS defense will have to be outstanding to stop some of the strikepower GPS has

I heard Endemann is out for some time with an ongoing knee injury. If he is not available, I would think Bell may move to 13 with Saul Lewis (N) brought in to 10 or Easy moves to 13 and Matt Minogue (K) to 12. Either way, as you say, a strong backline.

I'm not sure what your point is. I never said CAS had a better team, or a better backline. Speed out wide isn't a lot use if your forwards don't win you decent ball, and your inside backs don't run straight and create space.

My point was - and remains - that if both Trinity boys were playing rugby this year, CAS would have a big speed advantage out wide. I know Apps and Endemann, they're reasonably quick. But the CAS two are lightning - national champion sprinters, multiple CAS athletics records etc.

Did Byron H-D only just drop out in last 2 days? He was named in T 1sts last weekend. If so, agree that's a shame for CAS U16s as he would have been quickest man at the tournament and, whilst speed is not everything, he also knew his way to the try line.

Sorry no - BHD is playing rugby this year. Trinity have another 16s player who is marginally faster, a bit smaller, and from what I am told a better all round player. But he's not playing rugby this year.

Thanks Karma. Whilst BHD has come back to the pack a bit in past 2 seasons (as other boys have filled out and overtaken him size wise) he still remains pretty handy with ball in hand and a gap in front of him.

Allen Oxlade (6)
Yeah BHD is still very quick and a very good player. He came 5th at Nationals in the 100 recently. But he doesn't dominate on size and speed like he used to. He is learning to refine his game and add more strings to his bow.

The Trinity 9 in the 1sts is also 16s. Played flanker last year.

The Trinity centre is good but I don't think would oust Towns or Cameron. Good for the bench.

The Trinity 15 from last year is doing athletics for winter, as is their other centre.

Quite a good line up here, but a lack of some of the better Trinity Players? The number 9 had a good hit out in their loss against barker, as well as a promising full field try from their 12/13? also what happened to their fullback from last year's 15's who scored 4 tries against cranbrook? also Knox was the top team, yet only has 2 players...

Trinity came 5th last year and got carved up by Barker on the weekend without 3 of there best. I think having 2 players in there is reasonably. Your more then welcome to contribute your own team

Trinity came 5th due to an ordinary pack that gave their backs little ball, and a lack of depth. At full strength they were competitive with the top teams. You don't decide how many individuals should be in based on how the team finished.

Having said that, there are only two I would have in, but that's with each player picked on merit.

Both trinity's number 10 and number 13 scored 2 great long range tries, showing good speed in their win over St. Patrick's in the trial, their names? Possible considerations for CAS 16's?
