From what I hear Souths had the bigger forwards but Norths dominated the scrums. Anyone able to comment on how GLastras (C) went in Sths front row?

Also heard that the 'names' didn't get a huge amount of game time?

many of those shown on the bench in the attached plus a number who apparently started on the bench even though wearing 1-15

Sth also attached.

@CK I'm not being critical of the process as it makes sense for the selectors to give maximum opportunity to players they don't know as well. The 'names' they are usually well aware of and its in the unknown you can find the odd diamond

Surprised to not see Reimer (B) there. He has been playing well for Barker 1sts.

There are some GPS boys jumping with delight that Luke Reimer has been left out of this team. Close to best NSW u15s forward last year and has been going gangbusters in 1sts. The only logical explanation is they want him for Opens CAS 2s. A damn shame as this team is a lot weaker without his physicality and leadership.

If the squad has been announced in order (it's not numbered) then I'm also stunned Tejcek is not starting half. Maybe things will change once the squad trains together a couple of times.

Heard Cameron was at the trial and apparently has an injury which should be right for CAS training sessions commencing 21 June. CAS policy per website is boys who have played firsts can seek an exemption from the trials.

When do they select CAS I and II? Would be fair to assume they have him pencilled in for higher honours. Otherwise he must have really p...ed someone off!

Congrats to all boys selected.

I guess it's hard to look good in a Barker 1sts team that has scored 5 tries so far this season and had over 100 points scored against them and then to play a quarter of game time in the selection trial.

Tejcek is a great player and it shows the depth in CAS at 9 when he is back up half for chambers.

It may be hard, but Reimer has achieved it if the weekly match reports on Barker 1s are to be believed. He is regularly named as one of their best. He has also slugged it out with the best players in the GPS and ISA at the highest levels of rep rugby for the past 6 years.

Unlucky ones:
Rahme
Edmed
Tanner
Kellis

Cameron didn't even play the trial? yet is picked. These guys were definitely hard done by.
You know at the end of the day congratulations to the boys selected. Despite us experts a lot of boys will be happy campers and one can assume that the selectors only judged the boys on merit. Well done all lads selected . Now go give it your best shot

Well said and lets give our support to the lads selected and the other lads not selected i am sure will come out firing for their schools and clubs no doubt - which isnt always a bad thing!

a question for the experts - if one of the lads was apparently injured and sat out the trial game and picked of his track record - is that therefore not encouraging boys of similar stature to do the same? For eg one assumes Reimer had a shocker perhaps and may have been better off concentrating on his sock draw?

Question for the experts - where is the most fragile part of the team? where are the strengths? Front row looks a little light? Backs look ok

One can only assume he didnt place his best foot forward in yesterdays trials? givent that selection is supposedly based on trials if he didnt play well what does one say to the lad who played better than him on the day?
is selection based on the trials only?
