That's a lot better than I thought - a rainabka amount of experience I the forwards then. Just losing some size then. If they play smart they can be competitive

Speaking to one of the Barker lads parents he wasn't too noticeable in the trials . Perhaps he was off colour however you can't rely on reputation

I heard he was given 15 mins by the Nth H coach, who was from Barker and had a match to plan for v Waves the next day. Typically selectors would go to several games over the 5 rounds and pencil in selctions. The official trials would normally be used to confirm initial views on selection and for a few botlers to show that they perform better than expected in higher company. Im all for selection on form, but it should be in the broader context of 2016 form not 15 mins on 9 June. And past performance at the highest level is nearly always taken into account when selecting at Super/Wobs level.

IIRC there was similar angst about a young lad from cranbrook not selected 2 years ago in the 16s....history shows the selected team worked hard and got the desired results. .
