Cricket Summer 2023-24

All about that cash. Games are up for sale now. CA just signed a deal with SA for the Day/Night games.

New stadium but at least we haven’t lost a Test at Optus Stadium either.

Our record against India in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane is pretty good, so front loading those three tests is probably to our advantage. India's pace attack is very useful though.

I reckon with only Bumrah, our batsmen will struggle if last summer anything to go by. But India will be a good series

He benefits from the Australian conditions as well. If India can put up 300 in a first innings will be in for a fight.

Batting aggression seems to be leading to more results in Tests which is good so I don't see other than weather a draw/no result in the series. Australia 3-2 series win. India aren't comfortable here but not scared of it. Many of them have toured multiple times and won Tests.

They never learn that the first test needs to be in Brisbane

Welp Perth has been given the first Test for the next 6 years....

"uncertainty over the redevelopment of the Gabba due to various stadium plans for the Olympics, helped convince CA to look elsewhere."

"delaide missing its favoured pre-Christmas spot by hosting the second Test. Brisbane will get the third, pre-Christmas Test followed by Boxing Day in Melbourne and New Year’s in Sydney."

At risk of derailing this thread, it is so disappointing that there won’t be a size increase to the Gabba. Barring total societal collapse this decision will seem foolish in 2032 when most of Australia lives in Brisbane. A good public transport solution and an extra 2m people absolutely justifies doubling the capacity.
