When watching or listening to whole host of supposed unbiased hosts on current affairs that is different indeed.
A question for Runner and formerflanker.
Across any parts of the media, please name some hosts or even journos you'd consider unbiased.

Jennie Brockie and Lee Lin Chen SBS, Simon O'Donnell ABC, as a start
Sir Christopher of Whine has started a petition on change.org against the ABC closing facilities in his electorate. Seriously. You couldn't make this stuff up.
He is a front-bench minister, FFS.
Smoking Joe said that "the age of entitlement is over", but prissie-Chrissie doesn't think that it should apply to him or his electorate.
What a self-serving political opportunist.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Pyne.
Look at the sort of shows that the popular conservative hosts have in Australia.
Most of them are more about them than any particular issue or theme. Particularly in terms of the talkback radio hosts, their shows are often just soap boxes for them to argue their case.
Maybe part of it comes down to what sort of careers interest certain people.
Why are there so few conservatives in comedy or fine arts or acting?

Jenny Brockie hosts a show that mostly isn't very political in its topics of conversation.
Lee Lin Chin is a newsreader and has zero ability to editorialise in her role.
Simon O'Donnell as in the former cricketer? I can't say I've seen/heard him on the ABC.
I don't know if you read Fairfax press, but out of interest, where would you position Peter Hartcher and Mark Kenny in terms of left and right?
There are lots of biased commentators and news outlets in the media, I agree. BUT as a society we can choose to ignore, not buy, not invest in, turn off etc their platforms. Then their papers, TV stations, blogs etc loose money and perhaps go out of business.
The ABC on the other hand is funded by all taxpayers yet it predominantly runs a left-of-centre philosophy, irrespective of the number of conservatives who live in the community served by the ABC.
Being a taxpayer funded body the ABC should be balanced in its coverage of societal issues including politics. Quite clearly it doesn't do that and probably hasn't being balanced for over 40 years.
We can ignore biased commentators in the private sector, but we have no choice but to fund the biased ABC. It's time for a change to that concept.
I am trying to guage where you see the centre lying because I think it is somewhere to the right of centre based on your comments.
This is a pretty good point. Bias is probably a subjective concept based on perception as much as anything else.
But Malcolm is the ABC's champion! No way would he criticise it.
PS - what was the conservative/left ratio tonight on Q&A? 4/2! The imbalance always happens.
