If council approve some lights, you should be able to start Colts 3 at 6am kick off and get all 3 Colts and 4 Grade games at Coogee Oval.
Thirds and Fourths players and visiting team players would then only need to find one parking spot for the day, not one near Latham and then one near Coogee Oval.

Fourth Grade
Lost 40 -12. Wicks started badly and did not have a change of attitude until the second half when they made a game of it. Uni were well organised and enthusiastic from the start, took an early lead and never let up. Wicks are better team than the score suggests.
Third grade - Lost 34-34. Almost the same story with Uni coming out with intent and Wicks not gearing up until after halftime. The second half was a very good game by both sides with some great running rugby tries including a loooong stretch from the secondrower for wicks.
Wicks Reserve grade came out with every intent to take the Uni team by surprise. Their energy level was high and they had a healthy lead by halftime. Uni came back strongly in the second half but could not get over the defence of the wicks. Uni did score a length of the field try which got their tales up but the Wicks twos were better on this day -Taighe had a very good game for Wicks and the 14 for Uni is seriously quick but did not see enough ball. Wicks won 22-17
First Grade had youth aplenty on both sides. Mr HJarse quite correct in predicting that Hhutinson would not disappoint - he made some very good breaks and his defence was tough. Figg read the play well and scored an intercept try which put the wicks in a commanding position with 35 to go.
From then on it seemed that only Uni had the ball and when Wicks did get it they could not hold for longer than a phase. Uni kept pressing and it was only the excellent defence by Wicks that kept Uni out. Wicks won 20-15 in an entertaining game but I would fear Uni next time they meet.

With the score at 13-0 at HT Uni were not in the game and it was a question of how many they would be beaten by. However they came back strong in the 2nd half and I'm still shaking my head trying to understand how the Wicks survived. Uni's normally faultless set plays and strength at the breakdown deserted them in the face of strong and fearless defence, no doubt the inexperience of the Uni line up had a lot to do with this. Both teams left plenty of points on the park with bad decision making / lack of patience.
Great game by the referee who was calm and precise in his rulings.

Agree with the previous 2 posts. Hutchison is a find. Reckon it is a masterstroke by the coach to have Hiddlestone in the team. Wicks have lost too many games in recent years from poor goalkicking. Was amazed at the scrum - Uni are usually the best in that department however couldnt make an impact on the Wicks at all. Thought the forward battle was ferocious - in previous years Uni seemed to have dominated our piggies however thought we were on par with them at least. Our second half was poor however am hoping that is a positive as they say the good teams can still win when they are below there best. The side did have a lot of late changes. Will be interested to see which of the Under 20s will slot in to First Grade.
Henry Hutchison's abilities come as no surprise to any observer of recent Schoolboy Rugby. Some will even try to claim him as a Victorian export given that he has spent time at St Kevins College in Victoria before the family moved to Sydney and he attended Riverview.
Bizarrely he was seen playing for the Emerging Brumbies against the NSW Gen Blue team earlier this year, and there were some fears that the Ponies were about to sign him to some sort of contract, possibly via the Vikings. Somehow they either didn't want him, or he wanted to stay in Sydney and he strolled into the NSW U20 side, and ended up registering with the Wicks.
Like Kellaway, I don't think that he will get to play too many games for the Gallopers. He has two more years of U20 eligibility for the Junior Rugby World Cup, and IMHO he will either be snapped up by the Waratahs or end up contracted to the Australian Rugby 7's team sooner than later. Darryl Gibson would be a fool to let another Super Rugby franchise get his signature on a piece of paper.

I was advocating Hiddleston for 1sts (at FB) last year when he was languishing in 3rds and 4ths. Maybe not in favour with the Kellys? A very friendly young guy who takes his goal kicking very seriously. Scotland's loss is the Wick's gain!
The Wicks scrum has been steadily improving with the rotation policy (?) being applied with Asa, Goodbody, Kuate and Talakai (now injured?) whereby they all play at some stage during the game, sometimes as fresh replacements. Good stability in selection in the rest of the pack also.
I notice John Muggleton was an interested spectator at Coogee on Saturday. The Wicks defence seems to have improved since he left

Wicks were smashed today by a West Harbor side that claimed to have focussed on defense - they weren't kidding. The forwards lacked muscle and some piggies that like to play wide may have to change or get to know the the 2nds coach IMO. The backs were poor however may be excused as the forwards didn't give them a platform.
The wicks played dumb footy and played into WHs hands.
Think the selectors may have to review the team makeup. On this form we are no certainties against Parra next week.

Split fields at West Harbour with three grades playeded at St Lukes fields and only first grade on at Concord. However, the day turned out to be dry and not bad underfoot.
Fourth grade came out strongly and had a 10-0 lead at one point. Wests regrouped and had the edge in attitude after halftime to take a deserved 25-15 win.
Third grade pretty much the same , with Wicks leading and then giving up the game to a very determined wests who went on to win 21-13. Both thirds and fourths teams seem to be in an attitude slump which will have to change if they are to be in the finals.
Second grade was a very tight affair for the first twenty minutes but Wests developed a certain degree of frustration with some of the calls and suddenly they switched off for the remainder of the match. Wicks ran rampant to win 76-21 with a very polished team performance.
First grade warmed up full of vigour and then ran out without it. The first 15 minutes had Wicks allowing in a soft Wests try to be behind 7-0. Then the restart was out and Wicks were scrumming at the 50 and starting to play silly football. They were barely hanging on and giving Wests multiple penalties. Wests scored a great try through slight of hand in the backs to lead 14-0 before Wicks got a penalty for 3. Wests hit back with another try for a 21-3 lead which they kept till half time.
Wests had the better of Wicks with their ferocious defence and with in minutes had scored another try right after the start to lead 28-3. finally Wicks saw some ball but the heavey hitters in Wests were having a field day on the back of a couple of turnovers had the Wicks on the ropes 31-3.
After a few personnel changes, Wicks finally got a try of their own 31-10. Wicks were getting a bit more of a flow but the hard hitting Wests kept coming and disrupted any breakdown ball. A few penalties and Wests were back on attack to close out the game at 36-10.
The most disturbing aspect was the forwards continued their bash and barge tactics even when hoplessly outgunned and that the Wicks had no plan B in the backline. They will need to regroup quickly and become a bit more cunning.

Tough run alright. There is also going to be the challenge of giving game time to the Aus Under 20 lads coming back. Hanigan, Kamp, Croke, Deegan, Kellaway and the big Colts lock will all probably want some game time in the 1s. Interesting to see how the brains trust fit them all in.
^^ I think the minimum game requirement is 7 noting that players absent on Representative Duties (Wallaby, Super Rugby or State or National U20) are generally exempt from needing to play x games to qualify for finals. The games missed while on Rep duty count as if they were played.
Colts eligible players playing Grade 3 or below games count as if they were Colts 1 Games.
Colts eligible players who have played more than 50% of their games in Grade 2 or higher can not drop back to Colts for the finals.

Parramatta turned on a sunny day as it hosted the Wicks in all grades including colts. Colts on the top field (as it should be) and 4 grades on the main. Lots of Parra supporters in the late afternoon as befits their back to parra day.
