Another season has come to a close. Congratulations to Oakhill on the ISA premiership and Congratulations
to Auggies on another Waratah shield victory.

Will the ISA have many returning players for the 2015 season?

The Oaks firsts this year have quite a few players in year 11 in 2014 including Goddard and Anderson so I expect them to be a force again in 2015. The 16s and younger weren't so competitive but hopefully the talent is developing.

Sounds positive from the Oakhill camp. How are Auggies and Pats travelling in terms of returning players ? More importantly how many players returning for the ISA 1st XV side?

From the numbers Lee Grant speaks of in his excellent summary of the Shield match Auggies have 6 from the team on the day plus 10 other either used or injured who will return for 2015

Looks as if Oakhill will be a strong force next year.
From what i can gather 6 of the 15 starters from the final will be returning in 2015 for Auggies :

Front Row Mcrae, Nettleton, Afu
S/R Faatui
Inside Back Lough
Outside Back Ma'afu

St Augs will keep the dominance at scrum time rolling into 2015 with that front row returning !!

Can confirm Ben Marr, Josh Oxley and James Donato are year 11 and will be returning in 2015. Bennet James is a 97' baby but cannot confirm whether he is year 11 or 12. Brandon Burns is heading off to colts in 2015*

I think you are being a little tough on the 16s. The 16As came second behind St Pats and level with St Augustines while the 16Bs were undefeated premiers, scored more points than any other Oakhill team, had the fewest scored against them and the Schools leading try scorer.

Actually Oakhill came third behind St Auggies on for and against. They did not have the schools leading try scorer either??? Struggled to score more than twice in each game but did defend well all year. May have to do more with the coaching style than the kids themselves..

The ISA Schools Championship does not use for and against to separate teams on equal competition points. Oakhill, St Augustines and St Greg's finished equal second. I was referring to the 16Bs for point scoring including the schools leading try scorer. They scored 227 for and 28 against in 5 games.

Pius is looking good for the upcoming season with a lot of depth in the new opens squad and a Big pre season just starting to set in.

re Oakhill 16s this year .... if you ask that mob from castle Hill they will tell you this was suppose to be their dream age group when they were in the 13s & 14s. Then several key players decided to leave their school to experience "bursary assisted" opportunities at different GPS schools ! And players were also called up to 1st or played up in the Opens. For a gauge of 2015, I wouldn't pay too much attention to their 2014 16s results. They probably got a lot of other resources hidden in their current 2nds or 3rds. Apparently they had NSW 17s players fronting up in their 3rds this year.

The 2014 16s is Augustines weakest age group and has been since 13s.
Agree QH, but there's some diamonds amongst them (look up this years schools 16s). They will be joining one of the strongest age groups who will be 18 next year and have played or been blooded in this years 1st XV
