Dave, I think there is too much confusion between the tackler (who has to go to ground to be designated as the tackler ie one knee on the ground) having to release the tackled player and an arriving player having the rights to the ball as long as he's on his feet (ie supporting his own weight whatever that means) before a ruck has formed (ie at least 1 player from each side on their feet and in contact, in close proximity to the ball). This all happens in the blink of an eye and is obviously open to the interpretation of the ref.

Maybe the Easts players were quizzing the referee on how he was going to police the breakdown ;)

Colts deserved to win.
3rds - only saw the second half and we were camped in their territory but couldn't score.
2nds - lost the game in the first twenty.
1st - lost the game in the first twenty.
Woodies - congrats, well deserved and take it all the way!!!!!!!

wrong thread as well but on the theme of sporting talent on the Insular Peninsular, you can see lots of that talent every day passing through immigration control on the Spit bridge on a series of School Buses heading for the Eastern Suburbs.:)

Hows the new Foundation fundraiser going Dave? I'm sure its not as simple as this but why doesnt every club have a foundation?
