You need Doppler Ultrasound on the neck (carotids).
Sunday morning, woke up and was on the PC when the vision issue in the right eye struck again. Decided to get the medical guys to have a word.
Went back and saw the doc to get the official report. No lesions, occlusions, etc. as the radiographer said. Asked about the carotid theory and the doc said "nup". Gave me a script for migraine meds (largely pointless historically, but this is a new one so I'll give it a go at some point).
Decided to go to the optometrist and get my peepers checked. Vision is 100%, no real problems. Got a birthmark on my eyeball according to the $60 scan. Weird.
Optometrist said I'm probably getting ocular migraines - kind of like the migraine but without the pain.
Went for a walk at lunch time around the building, which is about 1km and was pleasantly mild, and as soon as I sat back down at my desk, there the bastard was again! Floating vision distortion in the right eye.
So with that in mind, I've determined the bets course is start exercising again in order to reduce my stress levels, increase endorphins, and lose a bit of weight. Hopefully, as per two years ago when I was at my peak, this will reduce the incidence of any migraine to practically zero.
Don't think it'll be back on the bike straight away - somewhat dangerous with the whole "getting blindsided by a truck" thing but we'll start with walking and take it from there.
OK I'm done with off-topic.
