Just getting some conversation in. Now with that whole Giteau Law scrapped I was just asking if someone had some information on players in not Super Rugby.
But yes, I do think that Simone is better than Hamish Stewart.

It's fair enough to discus the inclusion of foreign based players, but just throwing names up based on the fact that they're all of a sudden eligible doesn't make a lot of sense.

Notes from the Top 14's round 7 (specifically from Le Midi Olympique):
Maddocks - Started at fullback in their great win at home against Toulouse buuuut.. got a dishonourable mention and a 4/10:
"The Australian fullback had his most mediocre performance of the season, especially in the first half. He was dominated on high balls and a very crucial kick for touch. He didn't make up for it in attack either. He was beaten by Teddy Thomas from a quick a pass from Romain Ntamack. At 23-23, he kicked a ball dead. A performance to forget very quickly.
- Jordan Uelese got MoTM for Montpellier in their big win against a good Lyon (35-13)
"The former Wallaby once again represented the power and healthy aggression of the Montpellier pack, Uelese clearly dominated his opponent. He tackled notably with ferocity, even sending several Lyon players back into their own half, as well as causing considerable damage with ball in hand. The hooker also showed great skill by scoring a one handed try behind a Montepllier maul.
Newsome and Simmons were demolished by Bayonne, scoring 3.5/10 and 4/10 respectively but their whole team did pretty awful.
Other players like Banks, Leota, Latu, Fainga'a were unremarkably good or bad. Skelton didn't play.
- Injured: McIntyre, Swinton, Coleman, Simone, Hewat. Staniforth banned

They were both decent in a great team performance. Slade played better than Ikitau but very impressive from both of them considering they just got off the plane.T Hooper had a very good game for Exeter, Ikitau was Ikitau
James O'Connor did exceptionally well for the Tigers at 10, dispatching reigning Premiers Bath. I think he was awarded MoTM? He also managed to put down a raging Alfie Barbeary in open play.

Anyone watch the Saracens' game against Sale Sharks? That 19 yo winger for Saracens, Noah Calouri in premier debut surely looked the goods. He scored 5 tries, was taken out in air when in goal, resulting in a PT, and helped set up another with deft kick through. Was incredible in the air, and I know it only one game, but by geez there is something really exciting in this kid. He was drafted into English camp next day!

Geez just watched another bloody good game from Gallagher Prem between NH Saints and Saracens. They seem to like their wingers scoring in multiples up that way as Freeman for Saints scored 4! Really great watch again I thought, every bit as open and entertaining as what we get down this way.

Good news everyone! Jordan Petaia returned to union this weekend! Bad news everyone! He sucked! Tbf first game back for the worst team in the comp currently 0-8.

There are no shortage of mitigating circumstances when it comes to judging his first start. But it's clear that the Wallaby's performance was inadequate: he was too much of a spectator for the first try, he was caught out several times in defense, and he failed to create a spark with the rare opportunities he was handed".

Didn't that game have like 5 cards, most of them for his team? Not exactly ideal circumstances for your first start.
Either way, Perpignan having a train wreck of a season probably bodes well for him coming back to Australia for '27, and if his form is worse as a result it'll just knock a bit off his asking price.
