A do or die match for our finals chances this weekend. Single equation as I see it; we win and we have a chance of top four, if not we are out for the season.

i thin the short turnaround and the injection of a few Rebels will really help our chances.

Who is heading down to Geelong?

Unfortunately I'm gunna have to watch this one on TV. It will be the first Rising home game I've missed.

They'll probably play the other way, they'll just want the big shove from Lopeti in behind the tighthead, given we're still working with a makeshift option.

I do like the idea of playing Jones at 6, it would make him a better option for the Wallabies. I don't think there's much chance of him playing there at all for the Rebels though.

Not when a/ he's our best lock and b/ McMahon, Thomson and Reid are all pretty good options for blindside flanker.

Debreczeni has left the field for some reason. Not sure yet. The Big Swede has moved in to #10 from the bench.

Update on the Big Boot. Calf problem apparently. Won't be back on the oval tonight. Big loss for the Home team.

Cheese shown for Mark Baldwin (#7 Eagles). Cynical infringement in front of his posts. He's off to have a break for 10 minutes.

Jonah Placid takes advantage of number superiority for Rising to open thier account for tonight. Johansson to kick for the extras, and it comes off the upright. After 13 minutes, 13 points have been scored. Eagles 8 Rising 5.

Not sure that was a try there as Sir goes upstairs.

TMO agrees with me. Penalised for not releasing the ball "immediately".

Rising breath a sigh of relief. No change to the score. Rising 5 - Eagles 8. 21 minutes gone.

Game Details
NSW Country Eagles 8 (T. Sexton (4) try; J. Lance (5) cons) leading Melbourne Rising 5 (J. Placid (12) try)

^^^ Ref's worldwide have been coming down on contact with the head. A directive came out from IRB Refs Inc around Jnr RWC Time (June this year). The Saffers basically last against England after two of their big blokes were sin binned for high tackles. Probably part of the reason why Hooper was cited by the Citing Bloke after the game.

Finals footy so far. Only 13 points so far. Arm wrestle.

More Cheese from Sir. #4 Sam Jeffries has been sent to the naughty boys chair for 10 minutes at the 38 minute mark. Rising playing Loig squad (13 players).

Sam Figg absolutely pole axed in a huge 2 on 1 tackle by Reid and Fainga'a.
Timani back from naughty boys chair. Rising back to 14 players.

Sir toots his Acme Thunderer for Oranges.

Probably the lowest scoring 1st half of NRC.

Game Detail Update at Oranges
NSW Country Eagles 8 (T. Sexton (4) try; J. Lance (5) cons) leading Melbourne Rising 5 (J. Placid (12) try)
Yellow Cards - M. Baldwin (NSW Country - 11 min), L. Timani (Melbourne Rising - 30 min), S. Jeffries (Melbourne Rising - 38 min)

Jeez the Eagles have blown about a hundred opportunities.

The tackling from the Rising has been ferocious. The last hit on Sam Figg by Colby Fainga'a and Jordy Reid was amazing.
