BEST OF GPS GENERATION NEXT

Being in the middle of GPS rep week, I thought I would have a crack at naming a XV from players named in this year's GPS Opens and Presidents XVs who, to the best of my knowledge, will be returning to their school in 2019. There are a few gaps and I have named 2 players for some spots. I may have got some wrong too. So feel free to add / correct.

1. Shanks-Anderson (J) GPS Blue
2. ????
3. Botha (S) GPS White
4. Bokeham (J) GPS 2
5. Schmidt (I) GPS 2
6. ????
7. ????
8. Brial (S) injured but would have made one of 4 GPS teams for sure
9. Albert (I) GPS 2 / Murray (J) GPS White
10. Vei (N) GPS Blue / Gibbs (J) GPS White
11. Williams (K) GPS Blue / O’Brien (J) GPS White
12. Penisisi (K) Pres A / Rugless (S) GPS Blue
13. Weekes (N) Pres A / Aveyard (S) GPS Blue
14. Sua'ali'i (K) GPS 1 / Zucchiatti (S) GPS Blue
15. Connolly (K) GPS 2 / Mossman (S) GPS 1

Shanks-Anderson (J) and Murray (J) are both Yr.12. I suspect Nick Jones (J #1) would feature next year as he is Yr.11 (not selected due to injury??) and Sam Kanaan is also U16 this year (playing in Joeys 2nds).

I wonder how things are going up at Boronia Park for:

5.30pm - AAGPS White vs NSWJRU II

6.45pm - AAGPS Blue vs NSWJRU I

Would be freezing and lonely on the wing, I'd imagine.

Any score yet?

GPS White had 5 all draw with NSW2. Very entertaining game with expansive play from both teams. White led most of the game and NSW scored near the bell out wide.

Best for White #9 Murray(J), #10 Gibbs(J) and #14 Latu (N)

GPS Blue were vastly improved tonight compared to their effort against White on Tuesday. Won by 3 or 4 tries holding NSW I scoreless.

Conditions were freezing and the field conditions deteriorated following the earlier game.

#3 Shanks-Anderson(J) had another strong game with more line breaks and a 40 metre run to the try line outpacing the NSW backs!

#6 Williams (J) has a strong game in defence and in attack offloading to the backs in space.

Gone home to thaw out!
