Joeys (has had a shocker of a year for reasons that have been well documented) beat the best-placed school (View) to end their undefeated run and in doing so actually ran up 25% of Views 'points against' tally. More than one fellow contributor has commented in the past that the 16s age group tells you nothing about the likely success of Opens teams in the next few years. I suspect that is even more the case this year. A terribly even comp where anyone could literally win on the day.
Last year the Joeys 13A’s, 14A’s, 15A’s combined we’re undefeated
Considering the 2023 16A‘s is the strongest age group at full strength, with so many players playing opens (or injured). They would have been dominant as last years undefeated 15A‘s averaging 42-7 in GPS
