Only 14As, 15As, 16Bs, 16As, 3s, 2s, 1s at Kings this weekend. Not sure about the younger A grades. Apparently, the other matches have been cancelled.

Even with the sun just starting to peek out from behind the clouds, its pretty clear that games will be won and lost in the trenches this weekend. Its going to be close range hand to hand combat for the pigs, and no place for the faint hearted I expect. Still, the other key to victory may be "playinitdowntheirend" and the big ask of the halves will be to kick it long into the corners. Will be a good test of the 10's and their game management.

Isn't Kupu M suspended for the punch last week on Ashton Thomas and Henry Dempsy?

-Scrums

Scrums' N ' Bars,

From my understanding, Kupu has not being suspended. Surely very concerning for the AAGPS? Especially considering other schools strict 'no striking' policy

Are Newington wrong for the management of this issue?
Cheers,

Personally, at any other GPS school they would be suspended. They prioritise building good character within the students, not just winning footy games

Generally, the AAGPS are very reluctant to give out suspensions.

Johannes' Logan's tip tackle on the Kings Boy last year earned him one week. There aren't many red cards going around anyway so I wouldn't be surprised if he got off with a Friday detention and a strict warning from Mark Ticehurst.

rumors inside the joeys sheds say its going to be a 'hustle and bustle' game of footy where severe levels of grit will be needed, as the field is reported as muddy with spotted puddles although in playable conditions the ball will be like a tube of slippery soap, the speed of the newignton team will be key for diving on loose balls. the addition of the seconds slowest player after buddy latham, 'hot head' keeping or whatever u blokes call him will only negatively impact the squad lets hope his 'hot head' keeps the bench warm and doesnt see the SJC 1 oval.

cheers BBC

This is disappointing, please keep the conversation on footy and away from 'hothead' keeping.

Stop the dribble,

A tip tackle is very different to a stricking in terms of suspensions, Logan's tackle was not intentional for the boy to land on his head.

Yes but the point being that was the only suspension given out last year.

Striking probably is suspension worthy if it results in a red card, but I don't sit on the AAGPS Judiciary so...

agreed, at majority of AAGPS schools, you would believe that striking may very well result in a suspension from school as well.
