Kings will be interesting v New as Kings have some genuine big bodies in the pack. Don’t have the same from 10-15 but in the pack they could take it to them.

Given that Shore are now 0-3 and have lost to 4th placed Joeys, 5th placed Scots and 1st placed Newington, it is not looking too promising right now. Heads up though, long season.

Definitely in the territory of needed others to knock each other off to get into any contention but can’t think about that. Just need to get W in the bag.

Double round is the absolute ducks nuts though to be able to have everyone still at the table.

Joeys 2nds are an impressive lot. The game plan they play is different than the 1st's. The overall principal is not to let the ball stop. The back up support is impressive as many players where able to get a ball away to running support player. They are a selfless team I feel who celebrate the process involved in a try rather than the bloke who put it down. They are the closest example I have seen of a Brother Henry team. Even those senior to me who saw the Br. Henry principle in action agreed this team seems to be using the ideals of fast running, support always and speed, speed, speed. Kings were not a bad team, they were simply blown away. Congratulations to the two old boy coaches.

Here we are now.

Callum Grantham (Newington) has run away with the points scoring, as his constant conversion kicking and double this week is setting him a level above the rest.

After a double this week, Bailey Roberts-Lintmeijer (Newington) overtakes Oliver Smith (Kings) as the leading try scorer.

To the surprise of not many, Newington College are the best point scoring team in the comp, as well as the best defensive team in the comp right now.

Shore unfortunately now hold the double burden of least points scored, and most points conceded. Lets hope they can rectify that.

Although I hold a level of bias, Newington certainly outclassed Shore yesterday. Their backs directed by King and Grantham have some serious strike power. Not to mention still missing their superstar props Sheck and Villiamu as well as Makasini on the wing - this team is special. However, now a short turn around to a Kings team who beat them in a close game in the trials, could prove to be the decisive moment in their season.

Nb - Grantham must be one of if not the best school boy goal kicker ever? - Big call. But he kicks them from everywhere.

Newingtons side yesterday did not have their captain of rugby Dylan Simmons or their best player Makasini. Nor did they have their biggest player Kupu or props Sheck or Villiamu. For at least a half of the game their team was mostly 2nd XV players who royally slaughtered Shore.

@Joker Im not trying to be a troll just as someone who is involved with the CAS comp, what do you mean by the CAS thread is in the hands of cycoplath, does that potentially mean it could be re-opened?

It was a cracker of a game

Kings tactics took some getting used to - they were happy to kick the ball away often and spent large portions of the match defending. That said their tackling was outstanding and there were some massive hits put on.

Joeys knocked on the door all day. The back three played great running rugby and were a constant attacking threat

In the end the Kings forwards did enough to rumble out a win

A beautiful afternoon for footy out at Hunters Hill and the Jo Boys sixteenth man made for a great atmosphere in front of a very healthy crowd

Rugby was the winner

It is simple.

He closed it, he makes the final decision on it.
Likewise I shut down the AAGPS thread and I reopened it after examining the facts.
My role is to support Cyclopath on what he decides.
