The only bitter ones seem to be the Joeys fanboys on here with the churlish comments, listing premierships and such, and possessing the seeming inability to be complimentary to anyone but their beloved team.

If Joeys and their fans had wanted the game to be meaningful they should have won more matches, including against Riverview.

They didn’t.

The Joeys 1st XV played good hard footy today and clearly wanted it more, but if we are honest, with a backline that was in a shambles for periods of the game, competing in what was effectively a dead rubber.

Riverview played like a team who had already won the comp after blowing their 21-7 lead working against the wind (and injuries) in the second half as you said. And they may have even squeaked a victory, being in possession in the red zone late on, had the referee decided to play more than 0 seconds injury time in a game that was positively riddled with them.

A great season for Riverview, the best team in a very competitive comp this year and well deserved premiers.

Period.

(And congrats to Shore avoiding the nudie run!)
I know right, it’s like mate, let view have their victory ffs

Has Lemoto inked anything with Toulouse yet or is it just a verbal commitment for now?
Pretty much guaranteed to end up there, the club has pretty much announced the signing.

Hayden Lavercombe is already on the club website for French Club RC Vennes.

Those boys will be heading over for preseason very shortly as Top 14 kick-off their season Sept 6. It will be very interesting to see how early they can break into their respective teams and whether RA can keep tabs on them so we can hopefully see them play for the Wallabies in the future.

they are more likely to play Espoir this season, more or less the equivalent of colts (but paid, of course) and i think there is a higher age limit.

How many View 16s playing opens?
Quite a few it seemed throughout the year. Younger Conna was playing Prop in 1sts to close out the season. Bowen and a few backs featured in the 2nds as well as most of the 2nds reserves coming from the 16s. Some really big boys floating around as well.

To then go undefeated in the 16s seems like a good sign of genuine depth. Taking out what are probably the best guys and beating Joeys 17/7 at Joeys is pleasing to see.

My hope is being able to bring through big chunks of guys that know each other so well has benefit. They slot in around the returning 1s/2s players and make the combination building period a lot smoother.

2024 forum reached a zealous 461 pages compared to this years rather modest 299.

I would say this is largely owed to the hiatus we had & the GPS wide banning of G&G on schoolboy laptops & wifi. But I do think the forum has been a bit slow recently so hopefully we can finish off strong. I’ll start to get some discussions going…

Yes, it has been a tough year. I was given my hammer in late 2024 with the instructions to "wear it out". There were times in 2025 I thought the bigger powers would end this thread. I am most grateful to Cyclopath and Lindommer who both lent a hand and trusted my judgement. There were times people asked me to ban students but my belief that there are students out there who can contribute positively. It is shame that many students cannot participate but I am sure some one will create a work around.

The CAS invasion really tested the management. Many members wanted a war, I simply wanted hot heads to cool. This tsunami of CAS taunts were in the end deleted. PLUS as a moderator I can approve or delete membership. We have the tools to identify those who were trying to get back on. We in in fact deleted every membership request for a month just in case. A hard call but we did make the trolls lose interest and go away hence the last few rounds went smoothly.

Bravo to member who suggested the excellent idea to move the tipping to a dedicated thread I feel saved us many pages here. Ace Ventura did a stellar job with his spreadsheets, the envy of other schools. All I did was to put the kettle on and scare up those who were late with tips. Pigskin has been in touch and we are arranging a lunch time meet up in pub.

Finally, a huge shout out to everyone who contributed. We also had plenty of banter which amused and annoyed the View boys. In the end we all seem to get along. A shout to the Shoremen who made stellar contributions. Ghost of Ralene once more has a stellar season of Riverview gossip and inside information. Congratulations again to the wolves of Lane Cove on their premiership.

Thanks to all who have been in touch regarding my health. Your support means much. If you see a man in black with a walking stick then you have found me and plenty of students did this season. It was wonderful to meet you all.

Going back to bed to dream of heavens pasture
