Just to remind everyone trials is just that trials. I could not care if Auggies put 100 on Scots. If any of you remember, back in trials was all about trying out combos, getting ready for the season etc. so let's all take a deep breath and remember, the comp is what matters.

Is Gps really elite to the others?
or has it past us
Better be somewhat elite for the pretty penny paid…

Gps certainly has an elite culture around sport and school that is hard to find anywhere else in Australia. Not only in schools but in collectives and institutions.

This culture is something to be proud of. I certainly am.

Not so sure about Kings 16s age group being notably weaker, the season will tell as always.

Kings lead all day until the final minute (lost 10-12) against a physically strong NC team on the weekend enhanced by two new Genblue U14s players the year prior. Kings had 6 of their best not starting or injured, all of which were with Next Gen U15s or in the final 3 U16s cuts from the Kings opens squad this year.

Last year Kings U15s lost by a conversion (5-7) in the last minute against Riverview who beat Joeys the next week. I believe all other Kings games were close other than Joeys last year.

I would says all 2024 U15s teams were competitive including Scots when they played the full team back from Glengarry. Agree Joeys and Riverview were the strongest (mainly better team cohesion, and execution of structure). This year if Joeys/Riverview have a couple of the best players in the Opens, and Kings/New/Shore/Scots have improvements, the competition is wide open this year. All teams could foreseeably finish last or first.

not to say they are weak, but comparing to the other 3 age groups they definitely have been the weakest. The As may be strong but they lack depth into the B’s,C’s and Ds

I didn't take much notice to kings last year, they weren't there in terms of expectations from 2023, as it always is an uphill battle coming back from a prem winning season. Definitely heard the name in waratahs 16s before but i will try keep a closer eye on him.

Risati is up their with the likes off Boston Fakafunu and not to get ahead off ourselves but Peanisini and Sualli. there season will ride a lot on him in the backline alongside Ben sawyer, Both class.

Forward pack will win this Kings teams games with the likes off Fonua, smith, hasani and lavercomb all locks for NSW 18s and contesting for Aus 18s. lavercomb and Fonua who both play Aus last year are predominantly locks.

Kings 3xv have just received new Kiwi Import Campbell Barrett, Cousin to yes the Barrett brothers. People compare him to a young Jordie, with a huge physical presence and frame, standing at 6'4, 103 kg, agile, hands like heaven. Coming off a Knee Injury last season, be sure to watch out for him climb through the ranks and into the Kings 1st XV. Looking to partner with Risati in the centres for Kings this year. He's a talent, the perfect player, speed of Beauden, Skill of Jordie and biff of Scott.

True. It looks like they have sorted out which combos don't work in every age group and grade, which is a good thing as the comp starts in two weeks.
