@electrobro, any predictions for Scots vs Kings this weekend? After seeing Scots play against Wavely
I saw quite a bit of improvement from the Scots boys last week against Waverley, however, Kings looked great against Trinity and their talent and good coaching were on show. Kings at home, I have Kings by +12 in the tipping comp, but wouldn't surprise me if Scots had a surprise victory, as I reinstate their vast improvement from St. Augustine to Waverly. @Try Line Vet, Would love to hear your thoughts@electrobro, any predictions for Scots vs Kings this weekend? Was just going by the Old Sydneians Wiki page but yes, if you click through to Jack Maddocks page it gives his school as TSC. Maybe he's another who went to the prep school like Huxley. So basically Grammar's senior school has not produced a Wallaby since 1957.This is false. Jack Maddocks played at Scots college and graduated in 2017

Some unusual changes so glad that the trials led to some as the E 1’s have not won a game yet and the 2s are undefeated. But it appears injuries have played a role in most changes to date. Change is hard but also how successful can you be when you move someone three positions in three weeks or up and down teams - hard to build connections.I think it is due to constant changing of teams. E.g getting a run on for the 1s then getting dropped to the 3s. I think if he re joined he would certainly be solid in the 2nds.
Sadly, I didn't see the King's game against Trinity, but I will take your word. However, I got to see the Scots teams play, and based on last weekend's results, I believe that the 3rd's and 2nd's are going to be good games to watch. With two very dominant teams, it will be interesting to see if Scots make any changes to the 3's and 2's. I believe that 3rd's will take the win against King's, and the 2nd's will be a challenging physical game, so it's too early to call about who will go home with the round 1 win. For 3:15, I think that King's are going to take the win as Scots didn't look very connected in the 1's, could be interesting to see if they come through for round 1. I believe Scots have much to offer in the 1st XV, so that it could be a good match-up, but King's might take the win.I saw quite a bit of improvement from the Scots boys last week against Waverley, however, Kings looked great against Trinity and their talent and good coaching were on show. Always interesting to see how the lower 'non-competition' opens teams can match it against Joey's depth. I wonder when the last time a Shore 4th or 5th XV side got a win vs SJC.I will be watching my much loved 4th XV carefully this weekend. I’ve heard through members of this forum and otherwise they were pretty slick against Barker. Best of luck men, hope they do very well!
*Undefeated in the B/C competition. Any other 16A team (sub SBHS) would run circles around those boys, same with Grammar 1s and 2s.Sydney Grammar has a wealth of young talent coming through. The Grammar 16As are better than the twos and pretty much on par with the ones. From what I heard, the 16As beat the twos 61-17 in training and lost to the ones 32-30. This just shows the quality of the young ones. Also a little fact for you, this current 16As team is the only team in GPS history to go 3 years undefeated. Watch out in 2027 comp
Not quite correct.....they lost their final game of the 1988 season to Sydney HighBetween 1988-1992 the Joeys 1st XV did not lose a game.
Crazy fact. Any other cases like this?He played 3rdXV at Scots, and yet two years later debut for the wallabies at Twickenham in front of 70,000. Not sure how that works to be honest!
Not quite 3rd XV but two Wallaby captains in Farr-Jones & Kearns failed to make the Newington 1s.Crazy fact. Any other cases like this?
So it's really 48 capped wallabies
We really going to start this again........
Only the greatest 1st XV schoolboy side ever.......and gave Joeys their biggest defeat at that time.......@Joker Who was the team to finally end the unbeaten streak, were there any big names in the side.
Let's all remember that a Waverly v Scots is a local derby and is a biggest game that Scots v Cranbrook......much of this has to do with many of the local boys playing juniors for easts and Randwick, therefore they all know each other's game very well.I saw quite a bit of improvement from the Scots boys last week against Waverley, however, Kings looked great against Trinity and their talent and good coaching were on show. Count me in JokerTIPPING COMPETITION.
16 spots left!
For those new here I hope this explains how the tipping works
With only three games each week I created a system where players can score more points not on just who wins
This is achieved by using margins.
Various margins are worth points.
Points break down.
Lose- 0
Win- 3 points if your margin is BELOW +5 of the final score
Win- 5 points if your margin is ABOVE and WITHIN the +5
Win- 10 points you pick the margin exactly
DRAW- If you select a draw 20 points
Here is this in action.
Game is Scots College v Sydney Boys High
Final result
Scots 10 High 32
Winning margin +22 to High
The following chose the following. Here is how they scored
Camembert - Picked Scots +25 0 points
Guppy- Picked High +10 3 points (win but below the margin)
Muppet- Picked High +26 5 points (win and within +5 of the margin)
Fluke- Picked High +22 10 points (win with the exact margin)
These margins come in handy as you can run down leaders or make a break. Plus is you fail to get your tips in you are given by default the away teams with no margin.
Tips are taken by PUBLISHING them here with a post. I will endeavor to have them added by 3:15pm on Saturday.
NO TIPS are accepted after this time.
You may wish to message me as well.
TIPPING comp entries close if limit is reached or FRIDAY 16 May @5pm .
